W.E.B. Dubois was a very complex and brilliant man. His thinking and philosophies seemed to change throughout his life. For example,
here is the primary reason for the rift between W.E.B. Dubois and the NAACP that ultimately led to his resignation. This is taken from a Harvard.edu article on the life of Dubois and what formed his philosophy of American Black Separatism:

"His visit to Liberia in 1923 and the Soviet Union in 1926, his subsequent study of Marxism, his growing awareness of Freud, and the challenges posed by the Great Depression all brought him to question the NAACP's largely legalistic and propagandistic approach to fighting racism. In the early 1930s Du Bois opened the pages of The Crisis to wide-ranging discussions of the utility of Marxian thought and of racially based economic cooperatives and other institutions in the fight against race prejudice. This led to increasing antagonism between him and his colleagues at the NAACP, especially the executive director Walter White, and to his resignation in June 1934."

From an outsider's POV, it's all driven by the growing racism and racist hate generated by the political divide. Trump and other extreme rightists used race to widen the divide to deadly levels.

And here comes Marathon Mike who knows nothing but wants to glorify timid accomodationist blacks who accept white superiority.

Mike in 1934 the law of the land made by whites was racial separatism. So just stop trying this disingenuous garbage unless you can accept responsibilty for what whites have done..

Disingenuous garbage from a Harvard.edu article? Are you saying that Harvard is writing smear pieces on their own distinguished Black alumni? :dunno:

That has absolutely nothing to do with my thread or post. Did you not understand what I wrote?

Yes. It's not fhe article that's disingenuous. It's you and your motives. The fact remains that when Dubois did the America was practicing Jim Crow which was a fascist system of racial separation. Communists accepted blacks as equal citizens at that time. So you ignore this reality to find this article in an attemopt to smear Dubois because he wasn't the bootlicking black your type likes.

So like I said, unless you are willing to take responsibility for what whites have done, you really have no right to try dissing black historical figures.

Historical accuracy is not "dissing". Are you unaware that Dubois fought against the NAACP support of Brown vs Board of Education? Are you unaware that Dubois fought against Black assimilation and wanted American Blacks to remain true to their African culture? That seems like Black Separatism to me. You really should research your historical heroes more thoroughly IM2.
