Ted Cruz is a member of a strict fundamentalist branch of the Southern Baptist Church with deep roots in Dominionist theology. His father is a noted Dominionist. Here are a sampling of references to read more about his desire to set up a national and eventually world-wide Christian theocratic government.

As more and more people become aware of his world view he will be only to win the hardcore bible thumping states

Dominion Theology is a theory from the field of Sociology which describes a theocratic ideology which seeks to implement a nation governed by conservative Christians ruling over society based on anunderstanding of biblical law.

Ted Cruz, Dominionism and Jesus

“U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz — whose father is Rafael Cruz, a rabid right-wing Christian preacher and the director of the Purifying Fire International ministry — and legions of the senator’s wealthy supporters, some of whom orchestrated the shutdown, are rooted in a radical Christian ideology known as Dominionism or Christian Reconstructionism.

This ideology calls on anointed “Christian” leaders to take over the state and make the goals and laws of the nation “biblical.” It seeks to reduce government to

organizing little more than defense, internal security and the protection of property rights. It fuses with the Christian religion the iconography and language of American imperialism and nationalism, along with the cruelest aspects of corporate capitalism. The intellectual and moral hollowness of the ideology, its flagrant distortion and misuse of the Bible, the contradictions that abound within it — its leaders champion small government and a large military, as if the military is not part of government — and its laughable pseudo-science are impervious

to reason and fact. And that is why the movement is dangerous.

Guno's bigotry shining bright and clear.

marty is now defending Christian domionism.

Different, but OK. It's his right to do so.

Morons like guno are attracted to anti-Christian conspiracy theories.

The real danger is our secular elites who are too often intolerant bigots.

Consider:

1) Abortion - The U.S. has some of the most extreme pro-abortion laws in the world - far more pro-abortion than many European countries for example.

When Is a Ban on Abortions ‘Extreme’?

2) We are not free to refrain from celebrating or normalizing the homosexual/transgender lifestyle.

New Mexico Court: Christian Photographer Cannot Refuse Gay-Marriage Ceremony

Gay marriage incompatible with religious freedom

Lawyer: Constitution Requires Taxpayers Pay for Wikileaker's Sex Change

3) Education - The government-funded educational establishment discriminates against religious parents, students, teachers.

No, i'm not, i'm castigating guno for hating any religion, and any religious person.

Progressivism is far more dangerous than dominionism, because even if he becomes president, his ability to get any dominionist ideas passed as law is about the same chance of Hillary willing Texas in the general election.

Dominionists celebrate Christian nationalism, in that they believe the United States once was, and should again be, a Christian nation. In this way, they deny the Enlightenment roots of American democracy.
Dominionists promote religious supremacy, insofar as they generally do not respect the equality of other religions, or even other versions of Christianity.
Dominionists endorse theocratic visions, believing that the Ten Commandments, or "biblical law," should be the foundation of American law, and that the U.S. Constitution should be seen as a vehicle for implementing Biblical principles.
At the apex of hard Dominionism is the religious dogma of Dominion Theology, with two major branches: Christian Reconstructionism and Kingdom Now theology. It is the latter's influence on the theopolitical movement called the New Apostolic Reformation that has been linked in published reports to potential Republican presidential nominees Perry, Bachmann or Palin. All three of these right-wing political debutantes have flirted with Christian Right Dominionism, but how far they have danced toward the influence of hard-right Dominion Theology is in dispute. It would be nice if some "mainstream" journalists actually researched the question.

Dominionism and Dominion Theology

Dominionismis a natural if unintended extension of Social Darwinism and is frequently called “Christian Reconstructionism.” Its doctrines are shocking to ordinary Christian believers and to most Americans. Journalist Frederick Clarkson, who has written extensively on the subject, warned in 1994 that Dominionism “seeks to replace democracy with a theocratic elite that would govern by imposing their interpretation of ‘Biblical Law.’” He described the ulterior motive of Dominionism is to eliminate “…labor unions, civil rights laws, and public schools.” Clarkson then describes the creation of new classes of citizens:

The Despoiling Of America

Dominionism is often connected with the theological position known as postmillennialism, which envisions a period of one thousand years prior to the eventual Second Coming of Christ during which the "Kingdom of God" will gradually gain ground against the forces that oppose it. For that reason, these "hard dominionists" usually work towards a general Christianization of society in the belief that this will help bring about the "Kingdom of God" and (after a thousand more years) the Second Coming.

Well we now all know what is the boogeyman hiding in Guno's closet.
you are really ignorant , and proud of it aren't you. No surprise coming from a statue prayer

Finally, an actual response from the HMIC (Head Moron in Charge) instead of a copypasta roll.

For someone who rails against the conformity of religion, you usually post other people's ideas, not your own.

Very extreme, may as well live like the Arabians under Saudi rule.

Cruz is an extremist and ideologue, a social conservative hostile to privacy rights, equal protection rights, and the rule of law - he has no business being president as a consequence.
