A GOP operative argues that in a race between a white and black candidate, "undecideds" vote white. Meaning, "undecideds" will break for McCain.

Story here

2004 Bush States where Obama is +50%:

Iowa
New Mexico
Virginia
Colorado
Ohio - 49.9% w/ 6% undecided but that would be an awful lot of racism to assume ...

And he's ahead in several more:

Florida
Indiana
Nevada
North Carolina
Missouri

I know it's irrelevant to the outcome of the election but Obama has also pulled above 50% nationally ...

I wonder how the majority of these undecided white voters feel knowing that the GOP is counting on their racism to win this election? Do you think it could push them in the opposite direction? I do.

From your 538 article:

Greene, however, ignores a fifth race, the Pennsylvania governor's race, in which a white Democrat, Ed Rendell, competed against a white Republican, Lynn Swann.

Freudian slip? :D

How would it be a freudian slip, exactly? Nate Silver thinks Lynn Swann actually was white, but was going to claim he was black?

Its a typo...they've been appearing with increasing frequency on the site. Probably because he is busting his ass to write stuff really quickly.
