What do you mean didn't work? Anarchy does not "work," since it is not a system. It is the natural order of mankind, unlike statism, which is an artificial order built upon social constructions. Every anarchic society, and there have been thousands, has been superior to the most powerful of states.

By the way, statism (the counterpart of anarchism) doesn't work. The average republic lasts 10-40 years. The longer lasting continious state only lasted for 500 years. There have been anarchic societies without rulers that have lasted for over a thousand years.

The majority of anarchist philosophers have advocated for some form of community organization and social cooperation. Something you would of knew had you actually read a book on anarchy, as opposed to absorbing media propaganda.

Additionally, most innovations in technology are not discovered by the state. They are discovered by independent researchers and enthusiasts. That is unless you are including military technology, since war is entirely an invention of statism.

That is the statist definition. Something invented by non-anarchists who know nothing about anarchism, nor can they name a single anarchist of the hundreds that have lived to write on the subject. Find one anarchist philosopher that ever defined anarchy that way.

It certainly wasn't Pierre Joseph Proudhon, who initially coined the term during the French Revolution.
