Why is it that parts of the nation go into an uproar because they feel a black kid in a hoodie on a rainy day is suspicious, but a white kid in a long trenchcoat on a summer evening with bright orange hair is completely overlooked? It also isn't like the white kid had nothing under his trenchcoat, he had an assault rifle, expanded bulky clips, 2 pistols, a shotgun, gas canisters, and a fucking bulletproof vest rammed under that thing.

Shouldn't the theater have at least checked his jacket to make sure he did not sneak any food in?

Parts of the nation do not believe a black kid in a hoodie on a rainy day is suspicious. George Zimmerman did because he was on neighborhood watch where robberies had been occuring and asked him what he was doing, and wasn;t even sure he was black according to the 911 tape.

According to the DEFENDANT.

Why is it that parts of the nation go into an uproar because a white kid with orange hair, wearing body armor, and brandishing a handgun, a shotgun, and an assault weapon, kills and wounds several dozen people, and call for taking guns away from law-abiding citizens who have the Constitutional right to PROTECT THEMSELVES from unstable people??????

If just ONE person in that theatre would have had a firearm in their possession, the carnage would have been stopped much earlier than it was, and LIVES WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED.

Just one of the reasons I do not go to movie theatres. Plus, crowds are creepy and I don't like sticky seats. The only places I go that do not allow my legally concealed firearm(s) are military bases and my place of employment.

Believe me, if I see a guy with red hair wearing a trench coat in July in my neighborhood, I am freakin' way beyond suspicious!

In a public venue, especially in the city, people just aren't all that observant.

They see freaky looking people all the time, and are simply desensitized to the out of the ordinary.

Around their homes, it is far different.

Who and which event are you referring to?

No law abiding citizen could have had a gun...the theater was a gun free zone per the management and owners.

Gun Control: Colorado is a concealed-carry state, as a noted film critic points out, but so was Virginia when a college campus there was racked by violence. Like the school, the theater chain was also "gun-free."

I believe that was the point of the post. When gun restrictions are put in place, only the law abiding citizen gets harmed.

Because people are secretly racist and don't wish to admit it.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Your forgot to include that he knew the robbery suspect had been aprehended and was in jail, but that doesn't explain how a person who was local to the trenchcoat mafia shootings in columbine was wandering around with an arsenal under his coat on a summer day and no one cared. If you are going to bring up knowledge of past events this guy was near columbine.

Yeah, but my point is that even before that had someone noticed the kid in the trenchcoat stuffed with all that crap and asked him to open it there would have at least been some difference in what happened.

Because at a batman movie premier.... that kind of outfit did not look "suspicions" or "out of place". Did you see all of the other nerds in costumes in the line? I also assume you know that the threader has now banned all costumes becasue of the event.

Yeah, because things would have been much better in a smoke filled theater if the audience could shoot back. I have seen how normal people react when they fall into a situation like this. Having a gun and knowing how to shoot it means little when you are confronted with a life and death situation by surprise. I have spent years organizing combat sports, and there is one thing I can say is that scared people with a gun are far more dangerous to the people around them and the authorities than the actual attacker.

Why is it that every time a tragedy like this happens stupid people have stupid knee-jerk reactions calling for stupid new measures like controlling everybody entering a movie theatre?

No, i think this is more about the Zimmerman thing. A whole trash job on why a neighborhood watch man would think someone in a hoodie would look " suspicious" in a neighborhood rife with break in's.
