Why does someone want an AR-15

I'd give the anti-gun leftists here an AR-15 or AK47 and I get my .22 for a 100 yard shootout, baby!

I'd win.
I'd rather have a Browning .22LR semi rifle....

Why? Does Browning make some kinda super-awesome .22 I never heard of within 40 years?

Near as I can tell the top 3 are Ruger, Marlin, and Mossberg, in no particular order.

Marlin
Ruger
Mossberg

If you want order.

As for a .22, I have owned several. I have a Ruger 10/22 now. No need to look at any others. Although I do miss the Remington Nylon 66 my Dad and I used to shoot.

You said that, and I had forgotten about those, but this is what I pictured:

Very pretty. Only 10-rd mags. Some stocks were almost translucent.

This would be like the .22 I had, it was a thing of beauty and accuracy!

I understand wanting guns for hunting or protection.
I know enough about guns that an AR-15 is not the best gun for hunting or protection.

I have an M-14. I don't hunt but have the weapon for protection.
It will put any size individual on his ass. It is high caliber. 16-round
magazine. The M-14 preceded the M-16 (AR-15) as the Army's choice weapon.

I know how to use and would use it.

I have a Springfield Armory M1A. It is the civilian version of the M14. I am guessing that is what you have too.

They are not only powerful, but accurate out to some amazing ranges.

There's a difference between the M1A and M1A1.

Your ignorance knows no bounds does it liar. You can't just go by an automatic weapon.
Tell me how what I said is untrue.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me which school shooter used an automatic rifle.
I look at semi-automatic weapons nothing more than a civilians automatic weapon.
An AR-15 can shoot up to 800 rounds a minute. You can call it what you want.

I know what I call it. I call it bullshit.

In order to shoot 800 rounds a minute, you would have to pull the trigger 13 times per second. Think you can do that?

How you look at things has no real bearing on the facts. You keep talking about the AR like it is a machinegun, when it is certainly not.
I think anyone could do at least 300 to 400 rounds per minute. That is crazy. Even if it is 100 rounds a minute.

You'd have a barrel that resembled a limp dick.

They were SWEET rifles!

What a terribly stupid thread.

Why does anyone want a fancy tv, car, home theatre system, new cellphone, new bed, new recliner, new house paint, 20 inch wheels instead of 18, upgraded pc...etc.

At the end of the day what someone chooses to do with their own money is....

NONE OF YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS

Isn't the M1A1 the little carbine? .30 cal carbine?

I have shot one a few times. Seems limited.

No, it's a redesign of the m1 in .308 select fire. Barrel rise, you can't just lay on the trigger.

Did I get you and your dad's gun right?

Yep!! That was the rifle. It was way more accurate than I could take advantage of. And rarely jammed.

I loved my dad's M1A1...... used it to hunt quite regularly. Good weapon for someone to learn with.

No civilian available rifle can fire anywhere near what this lying douche punk says. That airhead oldlady was saying the same bullshit the other day. It's not possible.

It's like they designed them to be so pretty! Well, myself and the model 60 could get jammed with Stingers.

Oh ok. Like I said, I have the M1A from Springfield Armory. .308 and accurate as any semi-auto I have shot. Heavy wench too.

Shut up. Progressives (adults) are talking.

Some of these progressives are talking out their ass. Like the "a semi-auto AR can fire 800 rounds a minute" nonsense.

So a mag would last ten seconds?

Guy that works with me was talkin' 'bout his brother loaned him an m1 to go hunting with.
"Sure you don't wanna take the 30 round clip ?"

"Umm, no, the game warden might not like that"

I guess that was before he got a 30-30. He has one now, oh! Bows, dammit!
There comes a time when crackers need to get new bows, I suppose, when they can shoot faster with less effort.

I can still hit a Dixie cup @ 25 yards with my 1993 bow.

Yeah, the draw's kinda heavy.

I had a Winchester 30-30 lever action..

Marlin makes a good 30-30.

Winchester makes/made the one that's worth the most money.
