Why do White people in America only identify with the term American but nothing else?

So you have African Americans, Native Americans, Mexican Americans, or Asian Americans etc. But White people in America seems to be the outkast? Can someone help me understand this?
Reverse question: Why can't all you Dash-Americans just be Americans?

The USA is supposed to be a melting pot. That means while you honor the culture that you came from, you should honor the culture of America even more. That means you should ignore color (we are all created equal are we not?) religion, sexual preference, anything that would serve to drive other peoples apart, were supposed to be embraced in the new country. That ideal has yet to be achieved because the elite figured out the best way to control the people is to keep them separate and at war with each other. "Divide
And Conquer".

Thank you for the statement. But what do you mean when you talk about the culture of America? 4th of July and Thanksgiving day or culture of the Natives? What is "the culture of America"?

The culture of America is to accept everyone, equally. Regardless of race, creed, or sexual identity.
Did you type that with a straight face?

Because we honor were we came from. If you dont like it too bad.
Wouldn't you be honoring it more by simply moving there? The fact that you say "we came from" means you see yourself as a race, not an individual. Sounds more like lip service to me, you want the bennies in one place by pointing to another place. That's unAmerican. E Pluribus Unum is the foundation, not look at my race.

According to you , we all came from Africa and by that logic every American is African-American.

Irish-American comes instantly to mind.

Hyphenated American terms imo shouldn't be used except if you maintain dual-citizenship. Only possible exception being African-Americans who're only here because their ancestors were abducted and elslaved. So they have more reason to use the term even absent dual-citizenship.

But using those sorts of terms only makes you seem like something other than 'real American.' Most Americans identify simply as "American." If you identify as something-American, you automatically, whether intentionally or not, make yourself out to be less than 'a regular true-blue American' since 'regular true blue Americans' don't use the hyphenated terms.

I can honor it just fine by sitting right here. Eventually I will be moving there but until I decide to do so you and others that cant mind their own business will have to fret over my existence. What you think is American or unAmerican doesnt really matter to me. I dont have to lose my racial ID in order to be an American. I'm probably more american than most of you clowns anyway.

Because that's what the fuck we are. That's also what black people SHOULD BE. As should Asians, Mexicans and Indians. Which they actually claim to be. Only NEGROES qualify their citizenship with that unnecessary African shit in front of their race.

Bullshit.
More REAL bullshit.

Truth hurts, eh gravity? I repeat...

No plenty of white people call themselves Russian, Irish, Polish, German, Italian American. If they thought like you that would not be occurring. I posted the evidence of this already. Sorry dog.

Huh? I always see an uptick in people that refer themselves as Irish around St Patrick's day.....but then all of the ones that do say they are Irish don't know the difference between green orange or black, and any respectable Irishman would take umbrage to that.

As far as Germans go, it's kind of easy to spot them once you see their name. But all of the German sounding named people I have met most have no clue as to their origins. I have worked with all sorts of people from all corners of the United states ever year we would get more and I have not seen them use the hyphen and most could care less. The polish jokes fly at people with ski in their last name. And it's easy to see puerto ricans because they have long hyphenated names and most Puerto Ricans do have a puerto rican flag in their car or at home. But most of the ones I have met are from puerto Rico. I do see Italian flags flying in pizza shops. But most younger kids are worried about getting a hot chick at the club then about their origins.

Although where I grew up some Italian Americans were very proud and I have seen Italian American crap on low brow tv shows. But for the most part I haven't seen what you say. unless they were first or second generation Americans then yes they do identify themselves with their homeland.

It is good to know your origins I suppose, I am not against it. And if white people are doing that where your at then maybe they are just trying to get under your skin? People love to do that if they can. Is it a superiority thing against your race or is it just to get you riled up? i know racism exists so maybe it's a little bit of both. But I don't think it is to the extent that you believe it is.

I was just replying to your post. And it's not just white people it's all people that try to get people riled up....lol

Of course I was flight line so it wasn't an office environment. But people pick on people, and if it gets under their skin then that's where most nicknames come from. Hell even pilots do it, and most of their nicknames are funny. I have seen black guys tear into white guys and it was always funny, and vice versa. You just need thick skin on the flight line is all. No matter what color it is.

I have seen in the south the south will rise again tattoos and the flags and stuff. Your right some white people do take that stupid shit seriously in the south, but they are low brow. And it is always fun talking to them because it is so easy to make them look stupid. LoL

I see that as a distinctly feminine trait in men if thats their go to. I guess I'm more direct so I dont understand that mentality. I would rather not rile people up unless I want a fight. I prefer peace.so I dont tease people.

If you weren't so stupid you wouldn't need things explained to you. Here's an idea, go to the nearest elementary school and have one of their 3rd graders explain it to you and while you're there you can have them teach you about grammar.

Yes. I did. Name any other country on this planet where a more diverse group of people live together....mostly in harmony. Name a single country in Africa where you can have gay people and straight people and Muslim, Jew and Christian, all living within 5 miles of each other and not be in all out war.

Name me one place on this planet where that is possible.
