Nasser was sucking up to the Soviets, and threatening shipping, then launching terrorism and wars against the Israelis and by extension the French. Eisenhower was wrong to make the Brits and French give it back to the piece of shit. He was too cautious re his moves against the Soviets, especially during the Hungarian revolt and the aftermath.
