In Q4 of 2015, the difference between black unemployment and white unemployment was pretty much the same in Massachusetts and Mississippi.

Let's look at all these Liberal states comparing whites vs blacks in unemployment for the most recent numbers:

California 4.4% vs. 10.9%
Illinois 4.2% vs. 13.1%
Pennsylvania 4.3% vs. 10.4%

In just those 3 Liberal states, the difference between blacks and white is greater than the black/white difference in Mississippi

The purpose of government assistance to the poor is to make them less poor. A family that is just below the poverty line, based on their own personal income,

gets Medicaid. The value of the Medicaid can lift that family above the poverty line because it gives them access to healthcare that they could not otherwise afford.
