Why didn’t Gingrich serve in Vietnam

stupid.jpg

If we stopped posting to stupid threads around here, the place would be a ghost town.

As I said before, I had an uncle who served in some covert missions with the CIA before and during Vietnam. I had a great uncle who was among the first to land on Omaha Beach.

Neither of them acted like dicks with ears, and didn't brag about their service. They wanted to forget about the things they'd seen.

I worked with one of the survivors who'd worked for FDNY on 9/11. He didn't sit around and brag about the things he'd seen, done, accomplished; and didn't expect people to kiss his ass. So, it's difficult to wrap my head around some veterans who like to brag about their service. It leads me to three potential conclusions:

1. They're full of shit and never served.
2. They greatly exaggerate what their role was while in the service.
3. They are narcissists and/or psychopaths who enjoyed the blood and guts.

Who gives a fuck.
YOU didn't serve. That's the point, assbrain.

So you Dems don't get the fact that Gingrich was a Kennedy "Husband".

That JFK signed an Executive Order to exempt men who were married?

And that it was LBJ who made the exemption for men who were married with children?

Newt was never drafted. He was exempt under the rules of conscription as made by two Democrat Presidents.

Why did Barack Hussein Obama not serve at all?

He didn't join during the Cold War, he didn't join during the Gulf War, he didn't join peroid.
We all know why he never joined, he is an anti-military socialist shitbag liberal...he would never dream of joining the US military.

So please, stop your idiotic phoney outrage over Newt not joining the military.
.....And, concentrate (more) on the rest o' that....

.....RIGHT??

He was married and had a child.

No, he would not be the first fat President. Taft and Cleveland were both pretty porky.

A lot of people serving are married with children.

That was one way to get out of it during the Viet Nam era, knock up your girlfriend and have a quickie wedding.

Or go to University and or move to my neck of the woods.

There were many options to avoid that freaking hell hole where Johnson was never in it to win it.

And the men who fought were fodder for the Vietcong. I deeply admire every man and woman who did serve.

But for those that didn't, knowing what I know now, I have softened any condemnation of them.

When we all talk about history being complicated, Vietnam is right up there on the richter scale.

.....Especially when you're playing Historian....and, attempting to place blame....

"Ho Chi Minh asked the Americans to honor their commitment to independence, citing the Atlantic Charter and the U.N. Charter on self-determination. However, by the end of the war, the U.S. government had begun to redirect its foreign policy from the wartime goal of the liberation of all occupied countries and colonies to the postwar anti-communist crusade, which became the Cold War. In France, where communists had led the resistance to the Nazi occupation, American policy supported General Charles de Gaulle and his anti-communist "Free French." De Gaulle aimed to restore the glory of France, which meant the return of all former French colonies. U.S. relations with the Vietnamese turned sour. President Truman refused to answer letters or cables from Ho. Instead, the U.S. began to ship military aid to the French forces in Indochina."

Political types are usually smart enough to "dodge the bullet" ( or their daddy tells them to).
Only a meathead would take and accept orders to go into a slaughterhouse.
Like these assholes in the "sandbox". If they had a brain they'd all go to the airport, come home, load and lock, and wait for the Nazi master to show up at the door.
BUT. It's an idiocracy full of brainwashed assholes. Aint happenin.
The shepherds that herd these sheep are nothing but traitors. If they respected their "oath" DC would be a prison camp full of old assholes wearing fancy suits and Wallberg street would be desolate.
Say one thing/do another. It's the murkin way !

Not WWII though.

Of course not.
Lets all hum a few bars of Yankee Doodle Dandy.
And give the Nazi Salute while the Pledge of Alliegance is recited. The way it was origionally intended to be saluted.

Why did not Newt EVER join the military to serve his country?

It just begs the response...

Why didn't Obama ever join the military to serve his country?

Now that bullshit out of the way, there are many people who just aren't cut out to be in the military.

And here's from my old lib days, one can serve one's country in many ways.
