I agree - there was never any basis for the Witch Hunt - no crime, no evidence....just butt-hurt and hate.

And of course, an operation run by the Russian govt which actively interferred with our election in an effort to alter the outcome.
Trump's folks were secondary to that concern. It just happened that through the course of gathering intel on that operation, Trump's people kept popping up in communication with high level Russians at the very same time the operation was active.
