Why did ALL Democrat lawmakers vote against border security?

Why would they vote against a bill that would have given real teeth to border security? Not a single one of them voted for it!!

That is, 213 Democrats just voted against a bill Republicans crafted to:

  • require President Biden and his administration to restart border wall construction
  • begin using new technology at our southern and northern borders
  • provide funding to hire more Border Patrol agents and pay bonuses
  • increase DHS transparency so Americans know how many illegal immigrants are unlawfully entering their country
  • make existing laws stronger to protect unaccompanied children (UAC) from trafficking and abuse
  • discontinue "catch and release" of illegal immigrants
  • end the president's abuse of executive immigration authority
  • improve the asylum process and make it more efficient

discontinue "catch and release" of illegal immigrant

Interesting this. Where do we propose we are going to hold all of these people and how are we going to pay for it?

Is the funding mechanism a part of the bill or is this just more debt?

This was over a year ago.

This is from May 2023.

Not over a year ago, it was last May, and the question is why if Dimocrats are truly interested in border security, didn't they get on board with this bill?
It's the sidestep. They vote in near unison in everything. Trump will restart the wall in January and this time finished. We should not have a wall; however, we lost the courage to remove illegals from the nation. We may have no choice at some point.

Because they are all on board for ( Pathway/ Amnesty ) ( Turbocharged Processing ) ( Unprecedented Benefits & Protections for Illegals ) ...

Why don't you post the bill so we can dissect and discuss it, why waste time on an article that is biased?

The bill was from last May. Today, we see Dimocrats acting as if they are suddenly border hawks, and want to blame the GOP for what's happening now.

So the question I pose today, is why did ALL Dimocrats vote against it, if they want border security? HINT: we know the answer.

It's called politics , I prefer to study law or legislation.

They do it because, despite their claims of being a servant of the people, these assholes are far more dedicated to their party than their constituents.

The sad part is that it is the same for their republican counterparts.

The bill states the individual claiming asylum would either be detained or released into a neighboring country. Since we would have to literally build a city in order to house them all until their court hearing came along, I'm betting a great deal of them would basically be deported.
