The Republicans invented the so-called "drug war", which has been a racist policy since the very beginning. It began with the "China Scare" of the late 1800s when cheap Chinese labor was imported from the British Empire to help lay the tracks of our railroads and they brought their recreational drugs (they smoked heroin). The only drugs that were banned were the ones used by minorities because we can't have all of those Chinese, Mexicans, and Blacks raping our white women. Prohibition on alcohol, only lasted 13 years, between 1920 and 1933. Alcohol is the white man's drug and it kills more people than all of the other drugs combined.

After the civil rights victory of blacks in the 1960s, and the anti-war movement led mostly by liberals, white Republicans were pissed, and they started the drug war, specifically targeting poor minorities. The incarceration rate skyrocketed in the 1970s, due to this BS "drug war" against the American people. Both Republicans and Democrats have committed crimes against Blacks, and minorities in general, not just Democrats. Republicanism in the US is mostly white and anti-minority, that's why Democrats love to play the race card, because it's true. They're capitalizing on the fact the Republicans are in many ways, a bunch of racists.

The way the Democrats are taking advantage of the aforementioned fact is highly destructive, allowing all of these illegals into the country. I live here in NYC and what is happening here is a crime against all Americans in this city (allocating resources to illegals when so many Americans are in need). Both Republicans and Democrats are responsible for this crap. There are no innocent parties.

I personally know a black man who spent over 20 years in prison for having a couple of grams of cocaine in his pocket, for personal use. He was charged with possession of cocaine under Clinton's "three strikes" law, which was handing out life sentences without parole for drug users. A simple drug possession felony charge without intent to sell or distribute was turned into a capital crime. It wasn't exactly that, but murderers were getting less time in prison, than someone like the man I know, who managed to get out of prison when the "three strikes" law was overturned. He and many others were released from prison and he's now clean and sober, running a business in Los Angeles with his family.
