Why are right wingers so darn afraid?

I'm being serious here, almost everything and everyone seems to scare right wingers into believing that "their world is ending."

Just looking at some of the threads' titles, we can see that their anger (which is really an expression of their fears) is now directed toward gays, especially since Pence of Indiana is running backwards so fast that its surprising that he's still standing.

So, we can now add to right wingers' new trepidations, gays and lesbians........
Of course, these poor evangelical, gun toting tea partiers, are also threatened by progressives, libs, democrats, dark skinned people, Iranians, unions, and scientists.

You know, good folks, Charles Darwin was and is correct.....adapt or perish in time.

funny you should mention this, since the left wingers thought the world was ending with Bush. Please continue to make up stories, its entertaining as much as it is false.

The world didn't end with bush, but it came close. 9-11 happened on his watch, two costly wars, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis and Afghani citizens murdered, the financial meltdown in the summer of 2008. Stellar performance by bush. Things are so much better under Obama. Some Republicans still buying more and more guns and living in fear of their own shadows.

Republican fear fest includes;
fear of black men and women
fear of gay men and women
fear of Muslims
fear if illegals
fear of MW workers earning a little more money
fear that the ultra rich won't be given even more money
fear of unions
fear of education
fear of science
fear of change
fear that their opinions are being given less and less credence by normal Americans.

There are fear threads started by right wingers on every one of those topics. (except the last one)

Better question; what are Republicans NOT afraid of?

Ask a conservative if he wants to conserve the high rate of illegitimacy in this country or if he would like to change it.

Ask a conservative if he wants to conserve the high level of illegal immigration in this country or if he would like to change it.

We want to conserve the qualities that made US great or even go back to the principles that we are founded on.

Ask a conservative if he wants to conserve the way liberals love to misrepresent what conservatives believe in or change it and actually have a meaningful debate.

Those are some great questions. And after you ask this conservative those three or four (I'm not sure about the last one) fine questions, don't forget to follow that up with; how, how and how? And HOW DO you want to do those things?

(this seems to be the hard part where there aren't a lot of easy answers)

That's what I am here to discuss. How and why.

You libs though, seem to be out to shut down any chance of debate by spouting nonsense, like conservatives are afraid of change, or of course the classic "RACIST!".

Moral Scorecards

On topics where liberals and conservatives will never see eye to eye, opposing sides can try to cultivate mutual respect. In The Righteous Mind, Haidt identifies several areas of morality. Liberals, he says, tend to value two of them: caring for people who are vulnerable and fairness, which for liberals tends to mean sharing resources equally. Conservatives care about those things, too, but for them fairness means proportionality—that people should get what they deserve based on the amount of effort they have put in. Conservatives also emphasize loyalty and authority>, values helpful for maintaining a stable society.

In a 2009 study Haidt and two of his colleagues presented more than 8,000 people with a series of hypothetical actions. Among them: kick a dog in the head; discard a box of ballots to help your candidate win; publicly bet against a favorite sports team; curse your parents to their faces; and receive a blood transfusion from a child molester. Participants had to say whether they would do these deeds for money and, if so, for how much—$10? $1,000? $100,000? More? Liberals were reluctant to harm a living thing or act unfairly, even for $1 million, but they were willing to betray group loyalty, disrespect authority or do something disgusting, such as eating their own dog after it dies, for cash. Conservatives said they were less willing to compromise on any of the moral categories.

Haidt has a message for both sides. He wants the left to acknowledge that the right's emphasis on laws, institutions, customs and religion is valuable. Conservatives recognize that democracy is a huge achievement and that maintaining the social order requires imposing constraints on people. Liberal values, on the other hand, also serve important roles: ensuring that the rights of weaker members of society are respected; limiting the harmful effects, such as pollution, that corporations sometimes pass on to others; and fostering innovation by supporting diverse ideas and ways of life.

Haidt is not out to change people's deepest moral beliefs. Yet he thinks that if people could see that those they disagree with are not immoral but simply emphasizing different moral principles, some of the antagonism would subside. Intriguingly, Haidt himself has morphed from liberal to centrist over the course of his research. He now finds value in conservative tenets that he used to reject reflexively: “It's yin and yang. Both sides see different threats; both sides are wise to different virtues.”

This year we see this continuing vitriol displayed as three African Americans have become powerful conservative communicators: Dr. Ben Carson, Bishop E.W. Jackson, and now Louisiana State Sen. Elbert Guillory.

Dr. Carson is a world renowned neurosurgeon with an incredible personal story. He was raised by a young single black mother in Detroit who couldn’t read. In 1987, he became the first surgeon to successfully separate twins conjoined at the back of the head, and in 2000, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

However, because of a speech he gave at the National Prayer Breakfast, espousing what he called “common sense principles and solutions” he received vitriolic responses from the liberal media, and ended up being disinvited as the commencement speaker of John Hopkins Medical School, the school where he teaches and practices. As Allen West said, “Dr. Carson criticized the unwritten rule of being an African American male by criticizing the policies of Barack Obama.

While conservatives embraced Dr. Carson inviting him to speak at CPAC this Spring, and called on him to run for president, the Democrat response revealed what liberals think of those who don’t fit their stereotypes.

Last month, Bishop Jackson gave a rousing speech entitled “Let Liberty Light the Way” that won him the nomination for Lieutenant Governor at the Virginia Republican State Convention. As an outspoken African American minister and Harvard Law graduate, he’s made many blunt statements for which the liberal establishment is trying to demonize him. The liberals have gone bonanza on him online, as they mock his faith and even mock key Christian doctrines.

Looking at Jackson’s comments that have liberals most upset, we see why liberals become outraged when minorities don’t toe the line. Jackson has repeatedly argued that Planned Parenthood has done more damage to the African American community than the Klu Klux Klan. This is something that many conservatives have pointed out for years, and something that the numbers clearly prove.

The newest line that has Liberals furious with Jackson, a direct descendant of slaves, is his comment that the Great Society has done more to destroy the African American family than slavery. This claim goes straight to the heart of the liberal philosophy.

True to form, every liberal outlet from Rachel Maddow and Allan Colmes‘s blogs to the Huffington Post are using this as an opportunity to mock E.W. Jackson. Even more astonishingly, liberals have resorted to denying that family units existed under slavery, and calling Jackson an Uncle Tom who is toeing the line for his Republican masters. Nothing gets the proponents of group think upset like powerful communicators who think for themselves

Just recently a state senator in Louisiana, Elbert Guillory, switched parties and became a Republican. Furious Democrats in the state reacted quickly:

“The Democratic Party reacted swiftly to the announcement, characterizing Guillory’s defection “a craven display of political opportunism” and calling on him to resign.”

Sen. Guillory responded by releasing a powerful video, entitled “Why I am a Republican,” in which he argued that there is an “Illusion that their (Democrats) policies are best for black people.”

He begins by explaining how historically Republicans worked hard to bring freedom to the African American community, while Democrats worked to enforce Jim Crow laws. He then details the danger of the Democrats’ philosophy to the African American community.

“At the heart of liberalism is the idea that only a great and powerful big government can be the benefactor of social justice for all Americans, but the left is only concerned with one thing. Control and they disguise this control as charity. Programs such as welfare, food stamps these programs weren’t designed to lift African Americans out of poverty. They were always intended as a mechanism for politicians to control the African American community. The idea that blacks or anyone for that matter need the government to get ahead in life is despicable. Even more, this idea is a failure.”

After describing how liberalism has failed the African American community, he speculates about the devaluing of the word “freedom”. “Sometimes I wonder if the word freedom has been tossed around so much that it has become cliché.” He finished with a rousing call for African Americans to follow his lead and abandon the Democrat party, the “overseers” of the “government plantation and party of disappointment.”

When did promising not to burden the people with more taxes become a bad thing?

Well, its a "bad thing" when we spent an estimated $3 Trillion on wars based on false premises......and placed the entire amount on an already over-the-limit credit card.........
Now, eventually somebody needs to pay those bills.....and since the middle class does NOT have lobbyists like the rich 1%ers.....guess WHO???

So national defense bad. African genital cleaning good

So national defense bad. African genital cleaning good

Invading Iraq was national defense????

Either you're really dumb or you're 11 years old......

(take the latter option, gives the impression that there's hope once you grow up)

Despite your clearly shallow opinion, yes it was national security. By definition the Bush doctrine of preemption is a national security or defense measure. Disagreeing with the action doesn't change it's purpose. In fact, had we been able to know how Obama would bungle things up, I'm sure even bush would have rethought it.

As for being 11, I'm not the one resorting to as hominem attack to pretend know what I'm talking about.

No one is "afraid of change", that is a buzz phrase your side uses to character assassinate an entire group of people solely based on their political bias.

So, this IS a flame thread, and retards like you only wish to cloud the true issues by engaging in childish behavior.
Actually most people are afraid of change, which is can be so very hard to make happen.

The Fall of the Soviet Union was a big change. Conservatives weren't scared by that. We loved it.

Well, reality would contradict what you two have stated......

Just in our recent history.......

The ACA (a.k.a. Obamacare) imposed a change in a health care system that only an idiot would state did not need fixing.....and look at conservatives' reaction.

Climate change and the need for us to change our suicidal tendency to pollute our only planet is undisputable (except for some paid-to-play "scientists") and we must correct the trend......and look at conservatives' reaction.

The first ever, mixed race president ascends to the WH, and such a change elicited birthers to begin, from day one, to label him a Muslim, Kenyan, Communist, Constitution-destroyer, etc...and we all know what the conservatives' reaction has been.

So my friends, to state that you conservatives "welcome" change and that you're not afraid of such changes, defies the reality....don't you think?

I did not state that conservatives welcome change.

I pointed out that if the change is, in our opinion for the good, that we welcome it.

DO you think that any change, especially one the is caused by public policy should be seriously and honestly debated BEFORE it is implemented so the benefits and the risks can be weighted against each other?

murder rates in liberal cities are rising again; especially in those places like NYC and Seattle where the Left has the police on the run. how many people did the Left let die through failed policies?

NOT nearly as many as your side of the aisle cheered when we invaded Iraq.

um; no actually ALOT MORE genius. 6,300 Black Americans murdeered JUST LAST YEAR, and a similar number evewry year. that is just the Black murder victims, mostly in liberal cities of coursek, for just one year. it is MORE THAN THE TEN-YEAR TOTAL OF IRAQ WAR DEATHS

try again[/QUOTE]

As a conservative, I would love to change that.

And I am confident I can speak for all conservatives on that.

But anytime we discuss anything that might reduce that number, all we get from the left is "RACIST!".

Republican politicians are on record for obstructing Obama since the day he entered office.
Then they signed an oath to a right wing think tanker to not raise taxes. Not an oath to the taxpayers who pay their salaries, but to Grover Norquist.
Then McConell let the cat out to the bag that making Obama a one term president was the republican agenda. Links below

Very, very true........NO president within our lifetime has experienced such blatant hatred and obstruction than Obama......Some will privately (and somewhat honestly) state that a half-black guy should not be sitting in the oval office.....But the vast majority of right wingers are not that honest and they will obfuscate their own hatred of Obama with stupid reasons like, "Obama is destroying our Constitution"....."our guns are about to be taken away".....and, my favorite, "Obama is a Muslim, Manchurian candidate."

(Now watch the profanity from these right wing bozos start....LOL)

Right....

Bill Clinton was impeached.

That is the ultimate opposition that that legislative branch can attempt against a sitting President, to attempt to throw him out of office.

Obama was not impeached.

The conflict with Obama is ideological and partisan. The same as with BIll Clinton.

Your use of the Race Card shows that you do not want Equal Treatment, because you already have that.

What you want is a Special Treatment.

Well, one thing is for certain...right wingers would be a bit fearful to state openly before any crowd what they spew on here about Obama, libs, minorities, gays and lesbians, etc.

The anonimity of this forum allows them to act brave and in a bullyish manner but, underneath it all, they fear that their world is not ever going to be the same.

I speak in public the same way I speak here.

What I never run into in RL is liberals who are as rude and dishonest in person as they are here.
