Why are left-handed mechanic tools so expensive?

I bought a left handed PING putter last week. It's worth more than its righty counterpart because they don't make as many and are harder to find. All my screwdrivers are ambidextrous, though...

So did I, and I NEVER used a machine that was in that condition even in the first job shop that I ever worked in. Where is the machine shop that uses that kind of equipment. OSHA would have a field day.

Did I say I used that particular piece of machinery?
Of course I didnt.
Have you ever used a chuck that was 60 inches in diameter or more?
I'd bet not, when using a chuck that size you have to really tighten it down if the part comes loose you better be able to run.

I worked in shops that made flight hardware for the NASA Shuttle program as well as prototype work for the F-22 Raptor.
I find it unlikely you've done the same.
