Everyone starved to death before the welfare state. Is that your belief?

Three things happened during the Great Depression:

1. The Stock Market crashed and America had become more urban and less rural at that time leading to soup lines and less people relying on what they grew.

2. Dust Bowl happened which caused massive crop failure because farmers were killing their land by not rotating crops and a massive drought took place.

3. FDR and his Socialist Dream slowed the recovery and took a World War to jumpstart the economy and bring us out of the Depression...

The Food Stamp Program of today is not the one from FDR day and is a totally different program...

The government cannot afford to take care of both. its citizens, and the illegal immigrants. A lots of money is being dished out to these immigrants. Legal fees, medical, food and housing cost.The illegals are being treated better than the citizens. They are going to have to cut back on funding housing programs in order to give housing to these illegal immigrants.

The money we spend on food stamps should be diverted to pay for the border wall.

Relax. No one is going to starve to death in this country barring a zombie apocalypse or something. Even if a hurricane, fire or other natural disaster comes no one will starve. Food banks and churches will take up the slack. Not like your average food stamp collector even buys food anyway.
