gm and chrysler have already been bailed-out once
And will be again, at the expense of the middle class, the middle class having already been soaked for the subsidies for EV's and for the EV infrastructure.

Rather the expense fo the middle class' children and grandchildren, who government of both parties either sees as an endless supply of cash for which there is no political price to take, or don't think about them at all.

The socialist Democrats treat the taxpayers like their slaves

"...failing EV's..." is nonsense. Some EV's are not gaining wide acceptance in the marketplace, but this is due to normal factors in a competitive market. They are perceived as too expensive, lacking sufficient range, ugly, or just inferior to the other available choices.

No one but a moron (e.g., Our Beloved President) believes that EVERYONE would eventually be happy driving an EV. They have their limitations, and they are simply not compatible with some peoples' needs. My personal view is that most middle-class households will, within a few years, have both an EV and an ICE vehicle in their garages.

The only auto manufacturers who might fail due to public rejection of their products are some exclusively EV companies like Rivian, Canoo, and Lucid.

Half of Buick's dealerships have taken a buyout rather than upgrade their facilities for EVs.

Gay Barry's filthy ass EV subsidies to keep the filthy UAW working will carry the American companies for a little while but it is a certainly that EVs will be a bust for the Big Three.

Many of the people that have jump the gun to buy the stupid things in the last three years or so now regret it. Lithium - Ion batteries are simply bad technology for vehicles.

The sad thing is the stupid idiots that bought the stupid vehicles think they are saving the planet when the carbon footprint for mining the raw materials, manufacturing them, keeping them charged and disposing of the batteries has a greater carbon footprint than ICE vehicles. How can people be so gullible.

Can you imagine what a shitty EV will be built with government subsidized funds?

The move to absolutely eliminate all internal combustion engines is absolutely ridiculous. There will remain many constructive uses of them, even if we do succeed in reducing them enough to stop poisoning ourselves.
The current trend in trying to replicate with electric vehicles the oversized, overpowered personal transportation that humans have inflicted upon themselves is also absurd.
One thing to keep in mind, however, is that vehicles powered by electricity will be able to adapt to any form of electric storage. When a better system than lithium batteries arrives, these vehicles will still run.
In the meantime, reasonable weight and power specifications could make electric powered transportation cheaper and common.

Might want to pay a bit more attention to the lack of enthusiasm for EV's
