While the so called mass shootings may grab all the headlines they pale in comparison to all of the lives that are destroyed every week in our inner cities. The school shooting in Florida had no more personal effect on your life than all the individuals gunned down in Chicago yet only one of them gets your attention, why?

I know why. It's because all these liberal run big cities already have strict gun laws so the victims can not advance your narrative. They also mostly use hand guns so that wrecks your rifle argument.

Go after the lawabiding citizens, because they will respond civilly.

Liberals don't believe that they should sacrifice their beliefs so everyone can have equal rights and freedoms under law.
They only think it's "other people" who need to sacrifice so they can have their beliefs.
Because they depend on party or govt for rights, instead of invoking them by natural law that is self-existent; they don't believe in that, so they are constantly dependent victims on the whims and handouts from party or govt. Of course they will always be oppressed and less than equal by taking this approach!

The police, Vets and other defenders of the Constitution will respect
and even lay down lives to protect their rights of free speech and free choice.
So they only pick safe targets like those. They have no authority to go after real threats
of danger, because that's the job of military and people who use arms to defend the laws.

TBH...Chicago, when viewed from any angle has a serious issue. However, the OP is correct, any discussion of Chicago is hushed, even ignored.

The Indiana border is 25 minutes from South Chicago.

The Wisconsin border is an hour.

Illinois has some of the best gun safety laws in the country. But that doesn't stop straw buyers from smuggling weapons in, feeding the black market in South Chicago.
