What you say is true, but that doesn't mean that you can punish people for just allegations. Unfortunately, there are people in this world who are not above making things up, spreading lies and rumors, as is clearly evidenced even on here on this board. Politics is a disgusting dirty nasty game.
You need to have some evidence to put someone in jail, even if you believe the person telling you the story. That is how our justice system operates. Innocent until proven guilty.
The rules of the court exist to help determine what the truth is fairly and impartially.
