When Will Democrats Stop Using Black People?

The two parties tend to at least ostensibly push policies and pass legislation that benefits their base and encourages further support. Blacks make up virtually none of the Republican base so Republican policy ignores or is outright opposed to black interests.
Yeah. So what are black interests, anyway?

The same as anyone's interests. What policies benefit them. Black voters aren't monolithic and most are middle and lower middle class but a wildly disproportionate amount of them continue to be seriously negatively impacted by holdover social and economic policies from the pre-Civil Rights era.

Black voters want their kids to get a proper, quality education (the single greatest factor determining future success) in an environment conducive to learning, they want to be able to find meaningful work that pays a living wage, they want proactive law enforcement to keep their streets safe rather than allowing rampant crime to destroy communities then treating every resident like a criminal, they want the ability to get qualified loans at reasonable rates so they can start their own businesses and buy their own homes, they want urban blight cleaned up and collapsing infrastructure repaired or rebuilt. In short, they just want the equality of opportunity every citizen has promised to them and to stop getting the short end of the stick.

If it weren't for the implementation of dozens of social and economic policies (many of which were outlined above) that forced all migrating black citizens into overcrowded poor communities with no avenues for advancement and all practical means to better their circumstances cut off, we wouldn't have predominately black ghettos and all the repercussions that come with them 50 years later, nor such endemic and generational poverty that maintains them. The consequences of those policies are what they still face and they just finally want the fair shake every citizen deserves.

The general Republican opposition to public services and social programs (not welfare) as essentially "government waste" going to "lazy people" is an ideologically rigid and generally uninformed opposition to all the investments in community improvement that could provide that opportunity. It's ironic too, because if those investments were made and opportunities provided, then in a generation or two most direct social welfare programs would be rendered unnecessary and instead of being a drain on the economy, the current poor would be largely productive contributors to it.

According to him, it's being able to cash in your food stamps to go by 40's and weed, whilst applying for yet more economy crippling entitlement thus strengthening said dependence on welfare, and worsening their living conditions, and hopes for a real future.

Right...because all black people are on food stamps, just drinking forties and smoking weed... :roll-fucking-eyes:

Wait, I asked what black interests are. You just described things that can apply to anybody.

As far as the crime problem goes, perhaps if the black community would stop glorifying thug culture, maybe it wouldn't be so attractive.

I think you're blaming the wrong people. Democrats have promised the black community a great deal...and have given them only enough to keep them dependent, but not enough to break free, and keep on blaming Republicans for their plight.

Black community leaders, too, have a vested interest in keeping blacks "oppressed". It's very lucrative, shaking down The Man.

Who's really keeping you down? Democrats and yourselves. The Republicans have supported civil rights since the party started. Democrats? Not so much.

Answer this: Why are ghetto blacks unable to succeed, when other minorities come to this country with no money and no English and wind up middle class and even wealthy in a generation?

Here we have a black politician trying to run for office and the Democrats trying to convince him to quit! All because they don't want Hispanics to vote for Republicans. They are going to sacrifice the black vote so they don't lose the Hispanic vote. Something is not right here.

When are black people going to wake up? Don't vote Democrat because you are supposed to... Vote for the person who is going to do the best job for all people!

Clinton Asked Democrat to Quit Florida Senate Race - WSJ.com

Never.

LOL do you work @ the DNC or something? Making sure them votes stay harvested huh.

I've never supported or voted for a Democratic candidate at anything higher than the State Senator level (and even that was 3 elections ago) and have actively taken part in campaigns (with my money and time, fielding calls, door to door, etc.) against them the last three elections. You're barking up the wrong tree. Pointing out deficiencies in Republican thinking and policy is by no means a suggestion that Democrats are awesome or deserve votes.

Doesn't matter how long ago, it doesn't diminish the significance of what our 1st Prez. did, and it's YOU being ignorant of history, and the history that WOULDA been had Lincoln not done what he did.

Good boy, @ least you aren't mindlessly blaming us anymore.

Typical wacko left, race-baiting talking point, with no truth or actual merit.

Annnnd ladies and gentlemen I give you that VICTIMHOOD MENTALITY I spoke of. The same one that keeps blacks dependent of welfare, and their personal, and living situations so bad, I know, seen it 1st hand, have lived it myself. "Ohhhh noooo! There's no point in tryna better my situation anyhow, anyway! Everyone's out to get us!" LOL do you work @ the DNC or something? Making sure them votes stay harvested huh.

More typical, tired, DNC/socialist/welfare addiction talking points.

Gotta give us time, that 70+ years of welfare addiction, dependence, and racist brainwashing is a hard thing to cure, but it's happening,

Byrd was a KKK loving racist till the day he died, you're just mad cuz he proves my points so easily. Get over it.

THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT WAS SIGNED IN A REPUBLICAN'S ROOM, AND THE GOP THEN WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTING IT PASSED. I also know that strategy is largely BS.

Done talking outta your ass yet?

Abolition, self reliance, sound social values, vouchers for better schools. Still talking outta your ass I see.

We've been doing that since forever. As I said, 70+ of forced welfare addiction/dependence, and racist brainwashing/indoctrination is a hard thing to cure, but its happening. Your slander against Steele is also laughable.

If you'd actually like to educate yourself and draw an informed opinion...Or you can stay ignorant and assume the root problem is "welfare addiction." Up to you.

It's clear you decided to go with the second option. I shouldn't have bothered.

Nice lack of reply.
