What's Wrong with American Health Care

The corporate model is failing in healthcare.
The insurance model is failing healthcare. Insurance is designed to be a hedge against financial risk for individuals - notably, individuals who have finances to risk. Insurance is not a safety net and can't provide health care to poor people. But, stupidly, we're trying to shoehorn it into that function and it's failing miserably. In the process, it's distorting the health care market and driving prices ever higher.
