what's with the hideous ads?

When visiting the site via my phone, the ads that appear are hideous. If I go to respond to a post, it's like these hideous ads show up just below where you type the post.

One slip of the finger & you will have activated one of these ads, and that is aggravating to say the least. Do they have adfender for phones?

My ads are all about SUVs and hotels. I'm in the market for a new car and I've been looking at mid-size SUV sites. And since I have 7 more trips or military reunions to attend in 2015, I have to make reservations in hotels at my destinations. If it ain't car ads it's hotels.

I don't find all those ads for Rogaine, Metamucil, Depends and testosterone booster particularly offensive, myself.

It's only the ones for funeral homes that I'm finding a bit disturbing.

Having no ad-blocker installed but not seeing ads anyway I think it must be from the script(s) on the site. I do have all those disabled and can still obviously use the site just fine. So if you're seeing ads might switch off scripts. See if that works. Don't have Flash installed either, if they're animated Flash ads, might be why I don't see them too come to think of it.

If they're using some sort of data mining/targetted advertising thing here that's actually not so bad. Certainly better getting ads based on what you're interested in, then a guy getting ads for female hygiene products and the like.

What the hell is going on on this site. Suddenly, every time the video ad changes at the top of the page, my page scrolls back up to the top, even if I am trying to type! It started today every time the Hulu ad renewed. Also, I was notified that a site was trying to determine my location.

The web has become such a disappointment to so many people in so many ways, and I think it's getting worse. Hopefully the new generations will try to fix it or correct it somehow, but that all depends on whether or not society gets worse or has finally had enough already.
