Zone1 What you were never told about Revelation: A revaluation and reassessment

Has this happened yet?

Revelation 1:7

New King James Version

7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.

They who pierced him died in the first century.

A paper proposing that the book of Revelation was written before 68 A.D., not around 95 A.D. I've always thought the book was written by John the Apostle and not some other John, in any case, so I find the paper interesting.

Introduction

Dating the Book of Revelation

One of the most important items in terms of interpreting the Bible is to understand the historical context in which it was written. Much of the debate concerning Bible Prophecy hinges on when Revelation was written. While dispensational scholars insist that John wrote his apocalypse in the mid 90's, a more compelling argument can be made for a much earlier date, around 65-66 AD.

Now one may ask, "Why is this important?" After all, it was nearly 2,000 years ago. What difference does 30 years make? Obviously, 30 years (or even 10 years) can make a big difference in the history of a nation. Germany and Japan in 1950 were quite a bit different than they were in 1940. In the same way, Rome and Jerusalem, the two main players in the Book of Revelation, were much different in 96 AD then they were in 66 AD. Thus the dating of the Book of Revelation becomes crucial in properly interpreting the book.

The author then goes on to list the external and internal evidence.
Poop!

I thought you were going to finally reveal what mushrooms the author was eating.

THAT might be useful.

And you have got nothing but your tired, worn out Hal Lindsey squawk. Which means you have lost the debate. Sadly, you've lost in more ways than one. Believe in Christ, and live...

She is a deceiver, she will never see Heaven, she's not even sure Heaven exists.

Did the Mormons tell you when John of Patmos died? Revelation is a letter to the 7 churches about what happened in the first century..a generation after the crucifixion.
It's commonly known in Christian Churches that he lived to the end of the 1st Century about 99 A.D. You can google this. However, because of continual revelation in these latter-days, we are able to read the Bible and not make up stuff. John asked Jesus Christ if he could tarry until his coming. Meaning 2nd coming in these the latter-days. Here is a paper of Non-LDS writings: John the Revelator, Part 3—Did He ever Die?
And, here is a small blurb from the Church's website: Are John the Beloved and the Three Nephites actually still on the earth? If so, what are they doing?
On the America's, the Church was also established and had Apostles and Prophets as well. 3 of them were given the same blessing to tarry until the 2nd coming of Christ in Power and Glory.

That's from the book of the Mormon.. not scripture.

No, it's from the Bible as well. John 21:21-22, Jesus was speaking of John, since it is in John. ...Jesus said not unto him, He (John) shall not die; but, if I will that he (John) tarry till I come, what is that to thee? There are other versus in the Bible on this as well. The 3 Nephites are in the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Jesus Christ. So, the Book of Mormon is scripture.

Yep. He hadn't yet ascended into heaven.

There are many OT scriptures referencing His return
Yes he had. The Apostles touched him. If he hadn't ascended yet, he'd still be just His spirit body and their hands would have gone right through him. That would mean Jesus would have deceived them and that just can't happen. That's one way to decern if you see what is appearing to you as an angel or the Lord himself and know it if is of God or of the Devil. The Devil will extend his hand out and you will go right through him.
