In todays world you have to take every threat seriously. Terrorism and assasination are part of our lives.

You have to investigate hundreds of potential threats to find one legitimate threat. That is what keeps us safe in a post 9-11 world

I would say that one has to take the default position that one is not joshing as a post-Columbine change, to be honest.

That's my thought too. After Columbine, you have to take everything seriously. I know on campus I'm a bit ansy once a student starts to get visibly agressive.

Nobody saw Columbine coming. However I'd like to point out that those kids were victims of teasing from the other kids. They seemed to think that Christians were at fault. I remember them asking every one of their victims if they where Christians before they shot them.

A few months ago an incident happened the facts of which I haven't fully discovered but the jist of it goes like this:

Some guy that works in one of our shops was talking about politics and let slip he wouldn't mind it if somebody shot Obama. Now this guy is white and pretty much an idiot. He's got a record of drug abuse and in my opinion he's just about the most worthless worker we have here.

So as usual he's talking smack and he lets it slip he'd like to see Obama dead. Unfortunately for him he chose to say this in front of the wrong person. A guy who I like personally and never have had a problem with. The guy just happens to be black. I'm not saying that's the primary reason, but for some reason he felt the need to report what Mr Worthless said to the authorities. Within days the FBI and the Secret Service were all up in his ass. I don't mind this because the guy is an idiot...but isn't this going too far?

Nah, I am not Obama fan, But we must protect the office. Nobody should be wishing any president dead.

I would be suspicious the person who reported it to the authorities did not report it accurately. I would protect myself from being in any kind of situation in which I might be in some way vulnerable with this person.

The last thing I want to see is Obama shot, because I am not an idiot. That does not mean that someone saying he doesn't care if it happens justifies the taxpayer expense of an investigation, which is what happened here. I understand the desire of the Secret Service to investigate any and all threats, but that is simply way to expensive, not to mention counterproductive. Security is not obtained by chasing millions of false leads, it comes from an intelligent assessment of the risks.

Liberals want more people in the jails they run, more money for government. I think a Democrat is a nuclear conservative, wants everyone in jail that opposes them. Most of the current laws were either authored or agreed too by Democrats, and why we have millions upon millions in jail, along with mandatory sentencing guidelines.
