What would Native Americans like The People to do for them in the year 2015?

It's interesting how whenever someone brings up the history of Native Americans in America conservatives jump at the chance to mock and insult them.

Some will even stoop so low as to remind Native Americans that THEY and people currently in the U.S. came from somewhere else too, and then turn around and condemn immigrants coming into this country.

And of course you must not forget that "Had it not been for the Europeans coming to their rescue, Native Americans would still be savages living in tepees, hunting buffalo for food, and smoking peace pipes". The arrogance and ignorance in some is astounding.

"white settlers killed by Indians"? Oh, you mean the European invaders who were squatting on indian lands, after killing the inhabitants, who were killed and driven out by patriotic natives, defending their homes?"

Clearly there is still some dissension between 'The White Man' and 'The Native American'. So, what can The People do for Native Americans in the year 2015?

Can't speak for em, but what I'd like us to do is honor our treaties we made but then broke. Which? Well, we broke all of them, so let's start there. Throw a dart onto the wall and whatever treaty it lands on, start there. :)

I can't speak for them either.

Speaking for myself, the question needs to be what do the "People" want to do for the "Native Americans".

My answer? Jack.

You are no more deserving than the guy standing next to you.

Enjoy your culture. Get a job, pay your taxes, obey the law, and we can all live happily ever after.

You think the way to fix your problems is to hit me up?

Piss off.

Shoudl vastly enlarge their reservations in keeping with the treaties we made and then rescinded. If the larger area encompasses a US city fine, do a China-Hong Kong sorta thing. US administration and governance, but it's their's and they get some economic benefit like some of the taxes and such.

A good place to start.

What about the rights of the people that live in that city?

Why does something need to be done for them?

They already get a shitload of taxes and provide no benefit to the nation. Why should we give them more?

A better question would be what do they need to do for themselves. Visit any reservation and it soon becomes painfully obvious just handing them money isn't working.

Shut down the reservations, for one. If natives were a viable culture in their own right then reservations would more resemble Amash settlements instead of ghettos. We can also stop treating them any differently than we do any other American. Europeans won the land, this is how things are now, it's about time Natives put the bottle down and get with the century.

Put the bottle down? PUT THE FUCKING BOTTLE DOWN? Just who introduced them to that bottle?

Yer a fucktard.

No. It was not "won". It was taken. Stolen. Each state should pay each nation LEASE RENT. Forever.
Acquiring land through war has always been an accepted practice among Native tribes. Just because Europeans were far better at warfare doesn't mean they 'stole' the land. And besides, you have to own the land in the first place in order for it to be 'stolen' from you, and no one gave Natives the right to be here in the first place.

In the 20th &21st centuries we all grew up around liquor the same way. Natives were introduced to the bottle the same way everyone else in America was, yet Natives have a very high addiction rate. If 'we', whomever 'we' even is, should provide Natives with anything more than 'we' already have, that it's alcohol rehabilitation. Chemical dependency is probably the only thing keeping a Native from becoming President.

Give them back their lands and lease from THEM since it was theirs to begin with.
They have no lands, it was all won from them in war.

So, you imagine the Indians as a special group of hereditary landlords with the right to demand tribute from the rest of US?

And this is an idea of an improvement?
