Not the middle of nowhere
The electric car dies..........that's what would happen!!!!:boobies::boobies::bye1:

Killing the Electric Car Tax Credit Could Kill Electric Cars

I mean........what disgrace. But really, if you have both feet on the ground, its no surprise. Nobody wants these cars given the laughable sales numbers we've seen. Ford sells more light duty trucks in 3 weeks than all EV's combined in a whole year!:eek-52::eek-52:. Time for this tax credit to go.......duh.

I would like to own an electric car. They are the future as several nations have declared gasoline vehicle's to be eliminated in 2035.

I might buy an electric vehicle if it were powered by coal and had an electric start for the furnace. I buy vehicles, pay them off in 2 or 3 years and drive them till the wheels fall off...electric vehicles are for people who live in debt...driving a vehicle just as long as it takes to pay it off then jumping back into debt for another..and sometimes not even getting one paid for till they buy another...or heaven forbid...leasing a vehicle...

For people who don't have money running out their orifices but have some sense of what money is worth, electric vehicles are among the worst vehicles to buy.

Eliminate the tax credit, and it will slow the sales of the EV's by, maybe, a year.

Right...like eliminating the subsidies on green energy would only slow down production for a while...look at the places where that is happening and see what actually happens as opposed to your fantasy.

As the batteries come down in price, so will the cost of the EV's. And the costs of the batteries are exhibiting the same kind of curve that we have seen on all new tech. At some point in the near future, the cost of an EV will be less than that of a comparable car with and ICE.

So save your pennies and buy one. The tax payers shouldn't have to help you pay for one

Electric is not going to be the power source of the future rocks...no matter how much you wish it were so....look to hydrogen...electric vehicles are a fad...like pyramid power.

You are the fool engaged in fantasy.

Cost of Wind vs. Fossil Fuels - MEIC

Cost of Wind vs. Fossil Fuels

In Montana, wind energy is cost-competitive with fossil fuels, especially coal. In fact, wind energy is less much less expensive than coal for customers of NorthWestern Energy – the state’s largest utility. The graph below comes from data from the Montana Public Service Commission and it compares the costs of various resources in NorthWestern’s portfolio. The Judith Gap wind facility is about $32.11 per megawatt-hour (or 3.1 cents per kilowatt-hour) while the coal-fired Colstrip Unit 4 is about $64.55 per megawatt-hour or (6.4 cents per kilowatt hour).

You will believe anything...won't you? One of the hallmarks of an idiot is the tendency to jump on fads...you will believe anything so long as you can associate it with your dream of a socialist utopia.

Ah yes, EV's are a fad. That is why the big automotive companies are investing hundreds of millions in them. As far as your other accusation goes, yes, we do need a bit more socialism in our mixed economy model. We see that working better for the citizens of the European nations than our economy is presently for us. Mixed economy, not pure socialism or capitalism. Both have proven they are not ideal for all situations.

Doofus...hundreds of millions have been invested in losing ideas before...

and socialism only works for people who fear the responsibility that goes with being free. May your chains rest lightly on your stooped shoulders.

Silly ass, what does the motive power of an automobile have to do with socialism? You 'Conservatives' are getting further out there every day.

Such a shallow thinker rocks...maybe that is why you are such a dupe. Ask yourself, if you can manage a bit of depth...which nations, have and are threatening to eliminate gas burning cars and what sort of government they have..alas, the why is probably far to much for you to even begin to manage.

Taken from a FB post..........CarGuru's. Check it out........there are a million other posts that are similar.........

Jim Duffy I wouldn't be interested in an electric car if they gave them away. Since there is no effective way to produce the power, in big enough quantities to recharge the batteries, without fossil fuel or nuclear power they do NOTHING to "help the planet". Plus the batteries [ANY battery] dies after numerous charging cycles incurring HUGE costs to replace and then it sits for years in a landfill somewhere.

There are tens of millions of car guys. No car guys want an EV..........just like Harley guy will never want an electric bike ( have you ever heard of anything more ghey?? ). Progressives don't understand one very fundamental dynamic that matters as it applies to the automobile ( and a lot of other things btw ) = traditional culture in America. They see it as having no value. But a quick look at the laughable level of sales of EV's tells you all you have to know.:boobies::boobies::bye1:

orders have already dropped 45%... and so goes the stocks...
More stinky 'facts' pulled from your ample ass. LOL

Bad Tesla news keeps coming, but the company is doing 3 things right

Yes, if Tesla can deliver on 500,000 pre-orders for the Model 3, it will rake in a huge amount of revenue. But in 2017, the company is on track to sell 100,000 Model S sedans and Model X SUVs, vehicles that go for around $100,000 on average, much more than the highest-priced $44,000 Model 3.

Tesla's margins on the S and X are sort of speculative because the company has lost money for pretty much its entire existence. But the profits could be as high as 25%. That's superb for the auto industry, a margin more like what Apple garners for iPhones.

To savvy observers of Tesla, this means that the company has a life raft, in the event the Model 3 causes so much trouble that it threatens the carmaker's future. As long as Tesla can maintain S and X demand at around 100,000 annually -and with global sales, that should be possible - it can count on a baseline of roughly $12 billion every year (about $3 billion per quarter).

100,000 high end luxury cars. That is a real good record.
