What the Brat win and Cantor loss Shows Us

Enlighten me, what did Cantor do which convinces you he is left of center?

No such thing as enlightening you.. however, supporting gun control and rationalizing ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, supporting it.. Just two to begin with.. You act as though you had some personal stake in Eric Cantors primary.. lol Another example of a leftist who is whining this morning over Cantors loss.

If Cantor was left of center he would have voted for the stimulus, the ACA, and he would have endorsed Terry McAuliffe for VA governor.

When one is so far to the right they can't even see the center, everyone is a leftist.

TeaParty thrives in isolated gerrymandered GOP districts. Those they can win.

But they are easy targets in statewide general elections.

Anything that fractures the opposition to progress is a net good. The TEA party fracturing the GOP is a net gain for liberalism. More power to them!!!

The TeaParty win puts the fear of god into the rest of the GOP on Immigration Reform

No way is a Republican going to back it now. This will set up a major Hispanic backlash against Republicans in 2014 and 2016

maybe. unless it hurts poll numbers enough. then you might see something happen with the lame ducks and a few of the more moderate republicans.

I don't think immigration matters in 2014. But, imo, there's a bigger concept out there. See how the teaparty types like g4it cheer the purging of the unfaithful. It's ok for them to lose state wide, and natl btw, elections while they "clean their own house."

However, they then believe that once the purge is complete enough, they will then again win state and natl elections. Two things have to happen for this: 1) purges never are complete enough to satisfy extremists, but generally the purgers get tired of the effort, and it sort of peters out, 2) winning will require voters to change their minds on immigration reform and govt having a role in making medical care available to all.

The latter sort of reminds me of the liberal elite of the 70s. They were so sure they were right, they just knew the maj would agree with them someday, as soon as the maj learned the true facts. Of course at the time Nixon won with 60% of the vote, and we saw what happened after a political outsider from Georgia who championed civil rights and human rights abroad got elected.

Bravo to the tea-party in virginia for taking out another DC sell-out......even leftists should be happy with this.....this nation needs more clarity in its politics....rejection of those who curry favor with lobbyists......Im talking on both the "left" and the "right"

If the "left" is really concerned about the common man...as they claim.....then they need to learn a lesson from this result and support them by restricting immigration. If they did this they could have some success against so-called "chamber-of-commerce" Republicans.

I'm not so sure. I think most Anglos would like to see IR as would most Hispanics. I think the real loss for the GOP in this case is to further alienate those in the middle regardless of race or color.

William Kristol in an interview this morning agreed with the suggestion that on Wall Street issues,

Brat is pretty close to Elizabeth Warren.

can't say Brat is close to Squaw Warren but any Dems voting for Brat certainly indicates the frustration of Blue Collar Democrats....

the Tea Party can appeal to both sides of the aisle...

Foghorn_Leghorn_laughing.gif

so i take it you're for Big Business bringing in illegals to work for cheap wages....?

If not alienate the middle, just provide more evidence that the gop has to appease the crazies, and if people have to chose between sane and crazy, sane wins most often.

You're still an asshole and still incapable of posting a reasoned and unemotional comment.

lol Am I suppose to be insulted?

Nope, assholes aren't generally introspective; most are likely narcissistic personalties.

It's the democrats doing it for the GOP Teabag faction. They are hoping to get some more good sound bytes like they did in the last election. Like the ‘Legitimate Rape’ guy or the pregnancies from rape are “something that God intended to happen.” guy.

Actually,I'm for immigration reform and allowing temporary worker status

it's alive because The People of Virginia saw through a lying two-faced RINO...

you lefties are totally unhinged.....'terrorists'....?

Brat stands for free markets....no amnesty.....states rights....no obummercare.....Christian morals....

if you think those things are 'extreme' you have gone off the deep end...:cuckoo:

They are ALL radical.

And anti-Constitutional.

As well as anti-American.

1. Free Markets - The American Economy prospered the most after the New Deal. Well Regulated Markets work best. A trusted market insures investment and longevity.

2. No "Amnesty" - America is an immigrant nation primarily concerned the rights and well being of people. It's ridiculous to kick out kids and people who came here to find a better life, work hard and are willing to play by the rules.

3. "States" rights - That was decided during the Whiskey Rebellion and the Civil War. The Constitution says the Federal Government, which is a creation of the Constitution, is Supreme.

4. ObamaCare - Passed through 2 houses of Congress and survived a Supreme Court challenge, as well as 50 attempts to repeal. It is the law of the land.

5. Christian Morals - The VERY FIRST AMENDMENT of the Constitution ASSURES people of freedom of religion and no state backed religion.

Like all libtards you are so full of crap it boggles the mind....there is nothing 'radical' about the Tea Party or conservative politics...the real 'radicals' are the ones currently in the White House...

1. the New Deal was a form of socialism....and the markets only recovered from FDR policies because WWII started...did you know FDR even caused a recession during the Great Depression...? reminds me of the current Dimwit in the WH......what i don't get is why you libtards don't support Brat's win against Big Business...?

2. It's not 'ridiculous' to kick out anybody who is illegal....it's the LAW...

3. the Constitution says that anything not ennumerated belongs to the STATES....the FEDS have been overstepping their bounds for a very long time and it's reaching critical mass...

4. Obummercare was slammed through a Democrat congress/Dem Senate and not ONE Republican voted for it....very bad politics for such a huge issue....and any reputable poll will tell you that the American people do not want it...

5. Yes...so why do you libtards hate Brat for professing his religious morals....? like you said religious freedom is guaranteed by the Constitution....but you liberals hate Christianity with a vengence because it gets in the way of your agenda....it's nice to hear a politician speak for traditional American morality...

1. So is the US Constitution. But I guess having a Socialist Military doesn't really bother you folks. But the USPS does.. And? The US became a superpower as a result of the New Deal. It's been on the decline after the "Reagan Revolution", which brought back boom and bust..along with bank bailouts..and flat wages.

2. You guys are funny about the law. When the "IRS scandal" found that Tea Party PACs were in violation of Federal Law? You people didn't bother with it. I also don't see you folks chasing after Irish or Russians that "break the law" when they come to this country. Why is that?

3. Actually it doesn't.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

What it basically means is that if there is no Federal Law regarding something, states are free to deal with it. And if you actually read the Constitution? You'd know that the Federal government has some very board powers governing things such as commerce, immigration and the rights of citizens. For example, right now Prostitution is not regulated on a Federal level. Some states allow it..and some don't. Congress could easily pass a law nullifying that "power".

4. My point stands. The Constitution says nothing about having party line votes on a law. It's a majority of votes in Congress that counts.

5. Again. The Constitution provides for religious freedom. AND freedom FROM religion. Mr. Brat cannot codify his "morals".

4. My point stands. The Constitution says nothing about having party line votes on a law. It's a majority of votes in Congress that counts.
yes the vote counted....but it showcases how far apart the Dim congress is from the people...can we say 'radical'....it's why you guys are losing...

5. Again. The Constitution provides for religious freedom. AND freedom FROM religion. Mr. Brat cannot codify his "morals".
Christian morals have already been codified in our laws....or do you think murder or theft is OK...?
And NO...the 1st does not provide freedom FROM religion...only that 'Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion'...
.

Too early to tell what it means, but I do like the fact that it shows that an underfunded under dog can challenge top leaders in a primary and win.

1. It's hard to know what you guys consider socialism and what you don't consider socialism. Our military? That's socialism. The US Postal Service? That's Socialism. Social Security? That's Socialism. I agree with all that stuff. There are also aspects of our country that mirror Fascism. Like military contracts to private companies. You folks seem in favor of that. Or giving tax payer funds to private religious charities. That's also fascism.

So nail down what you don't like. To me? It seems you folks favor Socialism for the military and fascism for the rich. The Poor? On their own.

2, Again, PACs are not supposed to be engaging in political activity. That basically cuts both ways, too. There are Democratic and Republican PACs..which is probably why they backed off some. Thoughts?

3. Hilarious. You folks don't seem to understand the Constitution. The Federal government always had very broad powers. Read up on it. Crack open a history book.

4. Yes. It's "radical" to vote on stuff. Where do you come up with this crap?

5. Laws against murder and theft, predate the bible. And yes..I have the right not to worship if it so pleases me. You nor the government can change that.

of course Obama favors Big Business....or haven't you noticed how he passes out the party favors to them....? and how he leaves small business to fend for itself...?

make no mistake....Obama's big goal is to destroy the middle class....that means diluting the work force with cheap illegal labor to compete with American citizens for jobs....a strong middle class is the enemy of any socialist...

the votes are a bonus...

The anti-Cantor wing in the 7th District is hard core Tea Party.

The state established GOP hates them with a passion, believing they were responsible for Dem's gubernatorial win last year.

Some talk is going on today in Richmond whether the state and national GOP are going to hall Scat Brat. We will see.
