What makes someone suidcidal (Mental Illness?)

How many people do you think (percentage wise) have passing thoughts of wishing they were dead during a very difficult time? Do you think even a passing thought is a concern?

Why do you think drugs are a cause? Because of overdose? Or because people are not really addressing their issues?
I bet a lot of people consider it, but never act.

I believe several pharmaceutical drugs have been shown to cause suicidal thoughts.
Overdose of drugs, whether legal or illegal, obviously can cause death. Now whether some of those are suicides or not, who knows?

True.. I have seen those on commercials (side effects...)

Ironically many of the drugs that cause suicidal thoughts are anti-depressants!
Actually the reason anti depressants cause suicidal thoughts is a misnomer. The person taking the medication ALREADY had the thoughts and was probably to deeply depressed to act on it but the meds brought them up enough to where they could and they did not wait for the meds to bring them further up.
I am not buying that.

Some of these synthetic drugs are extremely dangerous. Yeah the people taking them already have issues but in some cases, the drugs elevate the issues leading to suicide. And keep in mind, Big Pharma in collusion with Big Gov, gives some of the dangerous drugs to children.
Yep. I've dated gals who were on some mood enhancer, have a sister on it. They're like the walking dead, very flat emotionally. I think the drugs are a bandaid solution to a deeper problem. Maybe good temporarily but to stay on them can cause a detachment from reality.

There are a multitude of people who are currently of some form of psychotropic medication and living happy normal lives because of it.

Everyone is different... depends on what you want out of life.. and what quality of life you can be content with

Every single one I've met was whacked out in some way. They thought they were happy because they were breathing.

I think you just have to be an educated consumer and have a Doctor you trust.
If your Dr. sees you are reading and up on the information available, they are less likely to push something on you that is not right.....

Read read read!

I just read an article about how Drs. keep using CT scans for profit and how dangerous they are. My husband has had about 3-4 CT scans (maybe more) in the last 6 months. A specialist was about to order another one and he said no - no more. He's getting and MRI instead.
Another way to say it is, do not listen to your doctor. Do the research yourself, if you value your life.

How about the stats on death by doctor...
America's Healthcare System is the Third Leading Cause of Death
Even more significantly, the medical system has played a large role in undermining the health of Americans. According to several research studies in the last decade, a total of 225,000 Americans per year have died as a result of their medical treatments:

12.gif
• 12,000 deaths per year due to unnecessary surgery
• 7000 deaths per year due to medication errors in hospitals

• 20,000 deaths per year due to other errors in hospitals

• 80,000 deaths per year due to infections in hospitals

• 106,000 deaths per year due to negative effects of drugs

Your personal experience provides an incredibly narrow view of the reality of psychotropic medication.

Yes...and the medical establishment and our wonderful benevolent government are fine with drugging millions of Americans with dangerous drugs.

Walking dead is a very good description. They also become addicted to these drugs and think they can't function without them.

.... but if the alternative is suicide or depression, not a bad option....

Irresponsible and without merit. A large majority of medications used to treat depression are not addictive and improve the quality of life for the affected person and their families.

I did not state otherwise.

However it is my view that most doctors are dangerous and the stats I posted above prove it. They know nothing about nutrition and its many healthful affects...and often denigrate nutrition.

I will listen to them, but I do my own research and it often conflicts with their position.

Many docs are just highly paid legal drug pushers.

Some don't and some do.

If you bother to investigate the drugs used by many mass murders, when that information is not censored by our wonderful and benevolent government, you will find most are taking prescription drugs. Might be a correlation, but we will never know because the powers that be won't allow any study of it.

Big pharma's drugs might also be a cause, but big gov's FDA won't bother to find out.

Stop spreading dangerous and false information, please. You could potentially cause somebody harm. I hope everyone is intelligent enough to know to ONLY take the advice of your physician and NEVER someone on the internet.

Maybe my new career should be pharmaceutical sales....
Yes.

My wife has a niece who does just that. She makes a huge income and lives in a mansion.
And she told me she would NEVER give any drugs to her children or take them herself. She knows they are extremely dangerous. Kind of hypocritical considering that she works very hard to persuade docs to provide them to their patients.

Lol. Sure she does. Sure.

Is this you latest conspiracy theory ? There is quite a lot of research out there on psychotropic medication. Isn't it difficult to determine what exactly caused a person on medication to commit a crime ?

Just a man who has studied health and nutrition for a long time. Thanks to the internet one can educate themselves on many issues, if they have the inclination.

Do you deny the stats posted above on Death By Doctor? If so, can you offer proof?

I type legal documents about doctors and their treatments of patients (psychiatric and otherwise) every single day. Are you going to argue with me about the effectiveness of medications for the large majority of people?

Many doctors don't know jack shit about nutrition or much of how the body works. Brain chemicals can get out of whack for many reasons. If someone is sad all the time it will effect their chemical make up. If they are angry all the time. If they eat like shit. Drugs can patch it up for a while but to stay on them means something else is wrong. To blindly surrender judgment to a medical practitioner is foolish. It's called a practice for a reason.

This is because you don't understand mental illness. People who suffer from major depression suffer horribly. This is not just like feeling "sad" or feeling "sorry for yourself" once in a while. It is a serious mental illness!

  • Things just seem “off” or “wrong.”
  • You don’t feel hopeful or happy about anything in your life.
  • You’re crying a lot for no apparent reason, either at nothing, or something that normally would be insignificant.
  • You feel like you’re moving (and thinking) in slow motion.
  • Getting up in the morning requires a lot of effort.
  • Carrying on a normal conversation is a struggle. You can’t seem to express yourself.

  • You’re having trouble making simple decisions.
  • Your friends and family really irritate you.
  • You’re not sure if you still love your spouse/significant other.
  • Smiling feels stiff and awkward. It’s like your smiling muscles are frozen.
  • It seems like there’s a glass wall between you and the rest of the world.
  • You’re forgetful, and it’s very difficult to concentrate on anything.
  • You’re anxious and worried a lot.
  • Everything seems hopeless.
  • You feel like you can’t do anything right.
  • You have recurring thoughts of death and/or suicidal impulses. Suicide seems like a welcome relief.
  • You have a feeling of impending doom – you think something bad is going to happen, although you may not be sure what, and/or…
  • …You have a very specific fear that torments you constantly.
  • In your perception of the world around you, it’s always cloudy. Even on sunny days, it seems cloudy and gray.
  • You feel as though you’re drowning or suffocating.
  • You’re agitated, jumpy and and anxious much of the time.
  • Your senses seem dulled; food tastes bland and uninteresting, music doesn’t seem to affect you, you don’t bother smelling flowers anymore.
  • Incessantly and uncontrollably into your mind comes the memory of every failure, every bad or uncomfortable experience, interview or date, like a torrent of negativity.
