What makes arguing with liberals so frustrating #1

The most infuriating thing to conservatives when arguing with liberals is complexity. Conservatives tend to try to boil everything down to simplicity, the argument always starts when someone says "it's not that simple or clearcut."

lol you could make a book of conservative simple minded one liners.Yesterday I heard some conservative talk host give the retarded line 'Rising tides Lift all Boats".

Which, if you had a bit more historical understanding you would recognize as a quote from President Kennedy.

'Cause you consistently get your (collective) asses kicked, for lying?

:eusa_eh:

Mr. Shithead;

There is no evidence that you grasp what planet you're on. You certainly don't "kick ass" with anyone. You are the retarded kid pissing in the toy box. No doubt in the petrified dog turd that substitutes for a brain with you, you are the master of all debate. You're still just the retarded kid, pissing in the toy box.

I have Shaman on ignore. He always pegs my idiocy meter. There's only so much of that I cant stand.

You mean like the way anyone receiving public assistance is a welfare cheat and all union workers are lazy, overpaid slobs?

Exactly. That's exactly what many on the Left accuse us of if we even suggest that there is fraud, corruption, and indefensible opportunism built into all aspects of the welfare system and all other government charity.

Also if we point out the very real problems that modern unions have caused and/or are causing, and/or that there should NOT be collective bargaining in the public sector for very good reason, the accusations from the Left are that we want to end all collective bargaining and destroy the unions.

It seems objectivity and/or intellectual honesty is not a strong suit of many on the modern American Left and THAT is always a source of frustration to me.

What makes arguing with liberals so frustrating

Liberals’ adherence to facts, it takes all the fun out of rightist dogma and myth.

Example?

Oh, wait, I'm sorry..this is just another mantra of the liberal mob. Forget it, I know you don't have an example. It's just a saying you're spouting, no real meaning.:cuckoo::lol:

I see this over and over. Conservatives are for limited government. Just because we say we don't want government doing things where government is inept, counterproductive, wasteful or whatever, does not mean that we should shut it down totally.

Yes, we do need roads, bridges, highways, jails, schools, aircraft carriers, GPS satellites, standard weights and measures, courts, etc etc. Saying we don't need subsidies for crummy cars badly built and still with astronomical prices does not mean we don't need highways.

The conservative view is that the government should be a useful servant of the people's needs. However, you give it too much money, power, authority it becomes the worst sort of master.

What bugs us Libs about you Cons is that you don't understand that the GOP aren't interested in smaller government. You've seen, they've grown government every chance they have had. But the benefits went to their buddies. The top 1%. The Military Industrial Complex. CEO's. Exxon. Blackwater.

Rather than have it go for paying for the middle class and poor people, social security, schools, etc. The rich want to "SHRINK" government but only where they pay to help the poor. Their cuts will never benefit you. The Bush tax breaks don't.

Do you think you will save money if they privatize the post office? Not a chance. Your taxes will still go up because any savings go to the corporations now, and you know it.

And your party will never fix the debt. $14 trillion is it now? What will they do to pay down the debt. Their military adventures alone make that idea a fanstasy.

And you righties are only being cheap now because you don't want Obama spending money on America in America. If its not a war, we can't afford it.

Probably because Libs know that that premise is BS. Government grows every time CON$ win. Your MessiahRushie let the cat out of the bag regarding Big Government CON$ervatism.

RUSH: In certain things, conservatives actually do like a big government. For example, conservatives do want an activist government defending what's right and attacking what's wrong.

It's not the "liberals".

It's arguing against "Facts, Data, and Common Sense" that makes it so hard for Republicans.

Please do not confuse the GOP and the modern American conservative movement. They are NOT the same thing. All those on the Right are not Republicans and all Republicans aren't on the Right. So you are correct that many in the GOP give lip service to smaller government but do little or nothing to accomplish it. Therefore, the government held fast to its Constitutional roots until the Theodore Roosevelt administration at which time the government began reverting to a more monarchal and/or authoritarian government model and the government has been growing and spiraling out of control no matter who has been iin the White House ever since.

What irritates me about liberals/leftists is that most are too ignorant or conditioned/brainwashed into not seeing and understanding that. Too many on the Left continue to clamor for a king and pooh pooh those who understand and yearn for the personal liberty and the concept of unalienable rights that the Founders gave us.

And yes, that is a major frustration those on the right have about liberals.

Middle class Republicans don't seem to understand the problem with the continuing downward mobility of the overall American middle class while the rich get richer.

Entry-level manufacturing jobs are paying half what entry-level manufacturing jobs paid six years ago.

The percent of Americans in poverty is its highest in two decades, and Republicans seem to think the answer is lowering wages even more? While the rich get richer? If they are not rich, what's wrong with them?

Mitt Romney says he's not concerned about the very poor because they have safety nets to protect them. He says he's concerned about the middle class. Romney doesn't seem to realize how much of the middle class is becoming poor.

Oh, I almost forgot. Romney and other Republicans also want to repeal Obama's health care law, thereby leaving 30 million Americans without health insurance.

The downward mobility of America's middle class is the big news, but the GOP apparently hasn't heard about it. Maybe it's too hard to hear about from that far away -- and Mitt Romney is certainly far away. His unearned income last year was more than $20 million. That's about as much as the combined earnings of a thousand American families at or just above the poverty line.

Some functions are better served by you as an individual, some are better served as a society

That would be the courts, the police function and the military, and even those are debatable.

Every other function government sucks at.

Interstate Highway system, food and drug safety, schools, welfare, social security just some of the functions best served by government

So is medical care, the US is just too stupid to realize it

Please. See, you guys have gone so far to the right, today, even Reagan is a flaming liberal socialist.

Name me your liberal republicans.

Fact is, too many Democrats lean too far to the right. Examples, every blue dog democrat and Liebermann. All the Democrats that killed healtcare reform are nothing more than Republicans in Democratic clothing.

You may find from time to time a Republican that goes along with the Democrats on a vote, but you can't find me a GOP equivilant to Libermann, now can you? A Republican who goes along with the Dems all the time. Find me one.

ROFL! Everyone of those programs is a disaster and a boondoggle. Our schools are the worst, Social Security is huge Ponzi scheme that is quickly going bankrupt, welfare breeds crime and dependency, thousands of people die waiting for the FDA to approve drugs and they end up costing a fortune, and the Interstate highways system costs hundreds of billions of dollars and replaced a system that was totally free to the taxpayers.

Not to mention deciding where you will work, what you will eat, what books you read...

Just a few of the things you want government to decide.

Some days I think Rightwinger is a ringer.

He's more subtle than Bil Stunbmun, but I think his agenda is to discredit the left.
