What does it feel like to get behind the wheel of a Lamborghini for the first time? Scott Pelley says the faster you go, the more confident you feel.

For Lamborghini's 50th anniversary, Pelley traveled to Italy and buckled up for the first time in a Lamborghini Aventador, a $445,000 whip with a top speed of 217 mph.

"The steering is so precise, the handling is so immediate, the breaks are so amazing, you become comfortable right away--I could handle the car," said Pelley. "When the car gets up over about 130 miles an hour, the wind is going around the car so fast, it sounds like you're in the cockpit of an airplane. The car really grabs a hold of the track the faster it goes and gives you more and more confidence. Then it was only a question of what kinda guts did I have? How fast could I drive this thing?"

Pelley isn't the first to take a spin in a Lamborghini for 60 Minutes: Morley Safer--a car enthusiast and a former club racer-- first reported on Lamborghini for the broadcast in 1987, calling it "a thrilling ride."

Twenty-five years later, producer Nicole Young approached Pelley about doing a follow-up to Safer's report, but Pelley's first answer was an immediate "no."

"The thing about the work that I do at 60 Minutes is that I don't do fun. Fun's not my thing," Pelley told 60 Minutes Overtime. "I tend to do all of those stories about wars and famines and pestilence...and she worked on me and worked on me, and I finally decided, "You know what? That would be a lotta fun."

They should bring the entire segment out soon but for those who aren't watching 60 Minutes, they talked about the Veneno.

Let’s get the numbers out of the way: 6.5-liter V-12 engine that churns out 740-hp. Top speed is 220 mph, 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Here are some more numbers to chew on. Only 3 will be sold (the fourth will remain with Lamborghini) for the mind numbing price of $4 million dollars, reports Yahoo.com.

There was a waiting list and all three bought the Veneno sight unseen.

This was so one of the best stories on 60 Minutes in a long time ...
