What is the U.S. goal in Ukraine?

The error is that assuming such a meeting took place 30 years ago had anything to do with an invasion started last year.
There's no assumption involved.
Such a meeting took place, and it is part of a long term plan designed to bring regime change to Russia regardless of how many innocent human beings are maimed, murdered, and displaced in the process:

Any claim from a "questionable source" should be easy to refute, yet, so far, all you've managed are childish ad hominem responses

Actually, I did nothing of the sort. I actually referenced a very well respected source that rates sites on bias and reliability. And they gave that source a complete and utter failure.

You are the one making attacks, I simply used a reliable reference.

And posting from a bogus site to try and validate your claim is a complete fail.

By definition it is all assumption.

The US goal in Ukraine is to help the Ukrainians defend themselves against an unprovoked and unjust invasion.
Why is hypocrisy disgusting? Because it is one of the worst kinds of lies.
Remember the bombing of Serbia by NATO aggressors? What excuse was given to justify that crime? The protection of civilians!
When Russia for 8 years talked about the need to stop shelling Donbass by Ukrainian bandits (don't forget that there were about 700 thousand Russian citizens living in Donbass) and finally, in view of the desire of Kyiv nazis to solve the problem by force, decided to protect people of Donbass by armed force. then the hypocritical scum of the West squealed about "unprovoked" aggression...!
It is quite obvious that the US political elite thinks, that they are allowed to do anything on the planet. Others are not.

Aside from "making the world safe for democracy" or some similar claptrap, what is the specific goal of U.S.policy towards Ukrainian territory? Is it to restore Ukrainian sovereignty over its 2020 borders with Russia, or is it to restore its sovereignty over Crimea, which was "annexed" by Russia in 2014? Or are we simply giving a blank check to Ukranian President Zelinsky to do whatever he wants?
Goal: To test out its most up to date military armament, wargames just aren't real enough.

According to the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian forces were to be withdrawn beyond the shelling of Dobas. As we have already learned from the statements of Western politicians, they were not going to abide by the Minsk agreements. So the fact of shelling of Donbass, front lines, or civilian objects is already a crime on the part of the Ukrainian rebels who committed the 2014 coup d'etat in Ukrаine. They should have been crushed in 2014.

Prigozhin of Wagner Group mercenaries has outed that Russian claims (what you are repeating) are all fabricated lies. So pick something else that might carry traction.
