When I moved to the exurbs far outside the sewer service districts of the inner and outer suburbs. The only motivation was a quiet rural area and the option to snowmobile right from my yard, and have an outbuilding for my toys.
I lived in the noisy city since birth, and always wanted to live in a rural area. I wasn't fleeing anything but sound waves and light pollution.

The wildlife also. About the only thing I haven't seen is a Black Bear, although they are around.
