What does AR stand for?

It would be pretty interesting to see what the average garden variety lefty thinks the AR stands for if you just polled garden variety lefties who rely on the MSM for their news.

What does the AR in AR 15 stand for?
Armalite Rifle
The ArmaLite AR-15 is a select-fire, air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine-fed rifle manufactured in the United States between 1959 and 1964, and adopted by the United States Armed Forces as the M16 rifle.[5] Designed by American gun manufacturer ArmaLite in 1956, it was based on its AR-10 rifle. The ArmaLite AR-15 was designed to be a lightweight rifle and to fire a new high-velocity, lightweight, small-caliber cartridge to allow infantrymen to carry more ammunition.

ArmaLite rifle

The “AR” in “AR-15” rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. “ARdoes NOT stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” AR-15-style rifles are NOT “assault weapons” or “assault rifles.” An assault rifle is fully automatic, a machine gun.

PRAGUE — Czech firearms company Ceska Zbrojovka has signed a deal to acquire Colt, the American gun maker that helped develop revolvers in the 19th century and has since supplied the armed forces in the U.S. and other countries.Feb 12, 2021

I used to drive truck and deliver to Colt in Hartford, 70's. Now the CZ firearms co bought them is VERY high quality, should make for some interesting firearms.
