The temperature has finally risen to a balmy 40 degrees after weeks of icy cold weather, here in SW Wisconsin. So what do we do here when the weather gets up to t-shirt temperature?
Shooting!
I bought this 7.62X39 AKM-47 Hungarian-build last year in anticipation that Hillary would actually get elected. It was put together by Interarms (Highstandard) of Houston, Texas and has Magpul hardware with a Parkerized finish. I opted for something in an AK platform as opposed to an AR, because I like the reliability...
Don't forget to use hearing and eye protection...
So what shall we shoot at? I just happen to have a 12" by 12" square of AR400 tempered steel armor plating about 70 yards up the hill behind my house. That stuff is so hard that I haven't found anything that even leaves a dimple on it...
What's that? You can't see it? Let me zoom in a little closer...
I just expended two magazines into that steel plate. Walmart has 40-round boxes of Tula 7.62X37 FMJ at a little over $9 per box. How much more fun could you possibly have on a balmy day like this?
