Welfare should be ended completely

It is called making life easier and increasing our living standards.
-SSI keeps old people from dying on the street
-Food stamps makes sure people don't starve in tough times.
-Unemployment allows a person to survive between jobs
A public education allows poor and rich alike to have equal chance to succeed. We'd look more like india or africa if it wasn't for this.
-Minimum wage helps increase our standard of living for our poorest.

Are you really so heartless to take this away? I'd focus more on education and technological training if you wished for success, but if you're a moral person then that is the general reason for welfare.

They've got you brainwashed...

Look like India or Africa? How f'ing stupid are you?

Don't answer, just crawl back into your victim mentality...
Hilariously ironic. Maybe not that bad quite, But read something . Try "The Good Old Days- They were TERRible!" FACTS.

Repairing GOP screw ups.

Yeah, but after the past 7 years, we know that they blame everything on the GOP. If it rained on Thursday, they'd blame the GOP.

Flint goes broke, and changes water supplies, causing a crisis, they would blame the GOP, even though the city is run by democrats.

No matter what happens, they'll blame the GOP.

So effectively you are saying "they'll screw something up, blame the GOP, and run on fixing their own failures".
I get so tired of liberals blaming the GOP.

Like the Iraq war. Hillary voted for it. It's her fault.

The people who suffered after Katrina. They should have left, even the disabled and the elderly.

Racism is the fault of liberals. Letting blacks get all those high falootin uppity ideas.

The deficit creating Bush Tax cuts.

I guess the OP doesn't take into account the places that pay less than 10 dollars per hour, because that is all the jobs that are available (Walmart for instance).

If you earn less than a certain amount, you qualify for assistance, it's just that simple.

You want to REALLY cut back on the welfare? Have companies pay people an actual living wage. If they make too much money, they don't qualify.

And you'll defend Republicans no matter what, and then you just end up with partisan bullshit.

And you'll defend Democrats no matter what, and then you just end up with partisan bullshit.

(what goes around, comes around)

See, that's the thing. I won't. I'm not a partisan hack. I say what I think, I make my own arguments, I wouldn't vote Democrat or Republican, I favor a system of Proportional Representation to get rid of the power the two parties have and to make more ideas, more democracy, more choice, more sensible politics.

.... Yeah.....

Right. First off, you don't even know me, or my voting habits. That's why I smacked you in the face with your own quote.

I was highly critical of no child left behind, and common core, and amnesty for illegals. I was against the bailout of banks, regardless of Bush supporting it.

Your claim about me, was judgemental and ignorant. That's why I threw your judgemental and arrogant claims back in your face.

You claim you are not like that? I claim I am not like that either. Now what?

Setting that arrogance on your part aside.....

I don't know where you people get this idea about proportional voting. Do you people not follow politics around the world?

If you don't..... then how do you claim it will "get rid of the power the two parties have and to make more ideas, more democracy, more choice, more sensible politics"?

If you DO follow international politics, then you should know by now that proportional representation does absolutely none of what you claim.

If anything, it guarantees more power to the largest parties.

Do you know why it is that when Republicans are in power, they still consult with Democrats? Do you know why Democrats in power, still consult with Republicans? Do you know why the majority gives a flip rats butt what the minority parties think?

Because if the Republicans hold 51 seats, and Democrats hold 49, two Republicans voting against the party, could allow the Democrats to round up and throw the vote. So the Republicans listen to the Democrats.

Now imagine a situation that is extremely common and typical in Europe. Imagine that the Republicans have 51 seats, and the Democrats have 30 seats, and the Christian Coalition has 10, and the independents have 5, and some nutter party, the Green party or something, has 5.

Now if 2, or even 5, perhaps even 10 Republicans flip.... do you think the Democrats are going to be able to unify a bunch of smaller parties to over turn the vote?

No, of course not. This is why in Europe the ruling party virtually ignores the smaller parties, like that almost don't even exist. Because practically..... they don't. They have no power at all.

All they do is fracture the opposition vote. A fractured opposition vote, means the ruling party is even more powerful than they ever could be, with a unified opposition.

I do not see one good result from proportional voting. Not one. If anything, you actually cause more of the problem you claim to be against.

Where is the win here? The German CDU/CSU party is pretty much what I'm talking about. They do whatever the heck they want. They have 310 votes in a 630 vote system. Yet they do whatever the heck they want.

Why? Because even though they don't even have the majority of votes, the other 320 votes are fractured between a half dozen smaller parties. They can't unified to oppose them. The ruling party has free reign.

Worse than that, the CDU/CSU has formed a coalition with the SPD. The Socialists, have a coalition with the right-wingers. combined the two largest parties have 503 votes. The opposition is less than even a spec on their radar.

Do you see my point? How is it any better? The two largest parties in Germany, linked together, making the proportional system completely irrelevant. NOTHING IS ANY DIFFERENT.

... Now.... if you really really want a proportional system..... fine. Whatever. I'm not even really against it.

But in all honesty, if you think it's going to make things even remotely better than they are now.... you are crazy. It's exactly the same in Europe. It hasn't hasn't done any of the things you claim over there. There is no logical reason to think it would here.

I guess the OP doesn't take into account the places that pay less than 10 dollars per hour, because that is all the jobs that are available (Walmart for instance).

Repairing GOP screw ups.

Now that's ripe, it'll take decades to fix The Obama Experiment...

Do you ever think about how to benefit society as a whole or have you been a selfish bitch your whole life?
Hilariously ironic, vulgar dupe twit. BTW, 95% of his reforms were blocked lol. WTF are you talking about? Booosh was the catastrophe DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

The people who suffered after Katrina. They should have left, even the disabled and the elderly.

Racism is the fault of liberals. Letting blacks get all those high falootin uppity ideas.

The deficit creating Bush Tax cuts.

First, I don't 'blame' anyone for Iraq. It was the right move. If anything, Clinton should have dealt with Iraq in the 1990s, then Bush would not have had to.

However, if anyone is to blame, it could be Bush Sr who should have finished off Saddam in 1991.

The only reason we even mention Hillary, is because YOU think it was a mistake. Well if YOU think it was a mistake, then why are you supporting Hillary? Hillary supported the war.

Second, Katrina is mostly the fault of the people there. They were told to leave. They were given buses by the city, to leave. Bush himself on TV said, LEAVE. Everyone said leave. The mayor's office told everyone to leave. They were given options to leave. The elderly, the disabled, were all offered passage to leave.

They choose to not leave. And don't give me this crap that they 'couldn't leave' because it's funny how after the floods came, they were on boats and skiffs, leaving.

So somehow the people incapable of leaving before the Hurricane, where magically able to leave when it was flooded. And I'm not talking about rescue crews. I'm talking about people came crawling out of their homes, to leave, before any government rescue efforts even started.

You doubt that, just watch Spike Lee's Hurricane Katrina movie. Part 1. You'll see these able bodied people saying "We're not going anywhere". Suddenly.... they were going somewhere after the water fell.

If anyone in government is to blame, it would be the governor Kathleen Blanco. When the mayor of New Orleans called for help, Bush came straight to Louisiana, and offered Blanco the option of him activating the national guard, and sending in the military to take over rescue efforts. Blanco said "NO". She's a democrat, and opposed Bush. Bush said straight to Ray Nagin that this is what Blanco said. Nagins confirmed all of this.

So as far as I'm concerned, the evidence is very clear that you can blame many people, but not Bush, over Katrine. Not his fault.

Racism is the fault of Liberals. You accuse people of racism all the time. You don't see us bringing up racism. It's you. Not us. So yeah, that's right. It is liberals fault.

Liberals accusing everyone of racism, creates racists people all the time. In know people right now, that are in fact racists because they are have had it with being told they are racists, and that they should be sorry for being white.

Forcing little boys to apologize for being white, creates racism in people. Absolutely. You are at fault. 100%.

Lastly
, the Bush tax cuts didn't create $1 Trillion dollar deficits for 4 years straight. So that is just simply a lie. Just a lie. Lie all you want, but it's still a lie.

Yes, proportion voting suqs. But after 30 years of Reaganism regression, the EU is ahead of us, without our natural resources. See si pp1.

I don't know if WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a liberal welfare program or not, but I DO know that it has been a success and a great help for many people in the military (including myself).

In the mid 80's, I'd made E-4, was a 3rd Class Petty Officer, and decided to get married and start a family. Well, after crunching the numbers after my wife got pregnant, I figured out that I was going to have to get a second job or starve. When I went to talk to my supervisor, they asked why I wanted to get a civilian job. I told them it was because I didn't have enough money to make ends meet (formula is EXPENSIVE), and I needed more money. He then referred me to WIC, and because as an E-4, I was poor enough to qualify, we got WIC.

I also used it when I had my second child.

WIC does a great deal of good, especially for those new families in the military that are E-5 and below.

Nope. Our middle class and the country are falling apart. After 30 years of Voodoo: worst min. wage, work conditions, illegal work safeguards, vacations, work week, college costs, rich/poor gap, upward social mobility, % homeless and in prison EVAH, and in the modern world!! And you complain about the victims? Are you an idiot or an A-hole? :cuckoo: And that was 2007- just getting worse. Thanks GOP.

Republican welfare ideas actually do get people off of welfare. The left criticizes them for some minor reason but they do reduce the welfare rolls to some degree. The same can never be said about 'liberal' welfare programs. Those always seem to expand.
Are there any GOP policies or programs on anything that are a success? Anything?

Hubert Humphrey and Dems mainly. ALL welfare programs are a success when you need them. And bad when you're ignorant and brainwashed. They have to look for work.

Republican welfare ideas actually do get people off of welfare. The left criticizes them for some minor reason but they do reduce the welfare rolls to some degree. The same can never be said about 'liberal' welfare programs. Those always seem to expand.
Are you really so dense to not even recognize all of the corporate welfare created because of republicans? Do you really see ANY republican try to put an end to it? Instead they would rather target cheaper programs for the poor. That makes for good politics.

It's amazing to me how willfully ignorant and stupid you people really are.

When I look at Corporate welfare, I see democrat programs.

The biggest government corporate welfare today, is the Farm subsidy. Who pushed the farm subsidy? Democrats.

The second largest corporate welfare, is green energy grants. Who visited Solyndra?

Who pushes grants for medical research? Republicans? No, Democrats do. Then you complain about Big Pharm making profits on medicine created with government grants?

How many millions did we give to General Motors to make a battery for electric cars, and who pushed that?

In fact, who saved GM, by allowing GMAC to be declared a bank? And who give it to the Unions? Was that Republicans? I don't think so.

See, every single time the left-wing brings up Corporate Welfare, they convict only themselves.

You show me the Federal budget, and show me what government expenditure is going to what company, through a welfare program pushed for by Republicans.

I want the name of the program, the amount spent, and what the vote break down was, for who supported it.

Everyone screams about the bank bailouts
H.R.1424 - 110th Congress (2007-2008): A bill to provide authority for the Federal Government to purchase and insure certain types of troubled assets for the purposes of providing stability to and preventing disruption in the economy and financial system and protecting taxpayers, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide incentives for energy production and conservation, to extend certain expiring provisions, to provide individual income tax relief, and for other purposes.

Who had the majority, and voted over overwhelmingly to support the bailouts?

See a problem here?

By the way... you want to even start looking at all the corporate welfare in the Stimulus act?
Oh gee how typical of you to leave out the welfare sponsored by republicans like Big Oil, Big Pharma, Israel, and churches. By the way, any corporate welfare going to agriculture is also sponsored by republicans.

Republicans Starve The Poor While Handing $20 Billion to Corporate Welfare Bums

Now sure democrats push corporate welfare, but the difference is that republicans try to cut SNAP benefits to single mothers and veterans (oh shit!).

I see you posting a link, claiming $20 Billion in corporate welfare.

I see the claim, in the link that you posted.

What I don't see, is the actual welfare. What is the program? What is the actual Federal Budget item? What program, gave what money, to which people?

Show me the SPECIFIC PROGRAM.

Because even your link can directly cite the specific welfare the Republicans were cutting. SNAP. Specific program, with a specific budget line, of money given to specific people.

Let me help you out..... you can't find the information I'm asking for, because it doesn't exist.

There is no program that pays corporations $20 Billion in welfare.

The way people on your side of this argument, fabricate these bonkers amounts of corporate welfare, is that you consider a tax deduction, to be corporate welfare.

The problem there is, if a tax deduction is corporate welfare..... then the single biggest group of welfare recipients.... is the entire population of the country.

Did you use any deductions? WELFARE! Everyone, every single Democrat, Republican, Independent... and even communist in America...is on welfare.

Now you don't consider your own tax deductions to mean that you are leach on society, forcing all tax payers to pay for you.... do you? Yet that is exactly the logic the left uses to claim corporations that use tax deductions are engaged in welfare.

It's a moronic, idiots version of logic. Hopefully you are not that stupid.

MANY GOP tax loopholes for corps. They used to pay 35% of taxes in the 50's, now 10%, with many with huge profits paying nothing or getting billions back.

Life is what you make it and in our country opportunity is always present...

Too many believe they are victims, are you one of them?
Thanks GOP.

So clearly your a victim and a f'ing idiot to boot...

You create your own problems and you have to make your own solutions
