The thing is, like I said, social conservatism has hijacked the Conservative movement. Until the real Conservatives take it back, they are going to be considered one in the same in regular conversation for obvious reasons. Like I said before, I have many Conservatives friends both here and offline that are all for LGBT issues. However, that's not the case as a whole in Conservatism from what I've seen.

But let's not pretend that men like that shithead running for the US Senate and claiming gays are unfit to teach school are doing any of us any favors. We have to start setting standards for GOP candidates high enough so that HATE is no longer our "secondary message".

We cannot claim "well, it doesn't matter" and remain honest....it matters. These fuckwhits do actual harm and DO NOT belong in the GOP, certainly not as candidates.
