We didn't need the Patriot Act because we knew about 9/11 in Advance...
Leftist David Sarota here in Denver is Claiming that we didn't Need the Patriot Act's Expansion of Intelligence/Surveilance because we Knew about 9/11 before hand, and didn't do anything about it.
He Cited the August 2001 PDB Specifically and then Eluded to the 1999 Report given to Clinton, but not by Name.
"Bin Laden Determined to Strike within the US" in a PDB in 2001 was about as NOT Specifc as a Warning could be... He Declared War on us in 1996, 5 YEARS PRIOR to 9/11....
That August 2001 PDB was Stating the Obscenely Obvious, and did it in a Painfully Vague way.
As for the 1999 Report that the Left RARELY Acknowledges, and that David made Passing Reference to to Dishonestly Support his Claim that we "Knew" about 9/11 ahead of time and did Nothing, that Report said NOTHING of 9/11, but it did outline in Concerning ways the Plans to Use "Planes" against Targets like the "Pentagon". Problem is, this was given to Clinton in 1999... 2 YEARS BEFORE 9/11.
So Actionable, that Report was NOT, that Clinton did WHAT for the Remaining 2 YEARS of his Presidency with it?
The 2001 PDB made the 1999 Report to Clinton seem like the Master Plan for 9/11...
Anyway, I can't believe the Left still Fronts this TRIPE... Basically because they are Rarely Called on it.
There was NOTHING in the 2001 August PDB to Bush...
That Title was an Observation of the Obvious, but there were NO Specifics within the Body of the Briefing.
It Reminds me of how the Left Regurgitated "Downing Street Memo" as if that was the Evidence of ALL Evidence Against Bush/Cheney for Lying about WMD, when in Fact that Memo Illustrates that the Administration and other Countries Thought the Threat of WMD in Iraq was VERY Real.
But to Know this, one has to be able to Read the Documentation they are Fronting because the DU or Err Amerika is telling them to.
Easy to Assert: "Bush was Warned in a PDB in 2001 that 9/11 was going to happen"...
Not so Easy to back up with ANY Substance from the PDB itself.
Also Easy to Assert: "The Downing Street Memo Proves that Bush/Cheney knew there wasn't WMD in Iraq"...
Painfully Difficult to make ANY such Case, using the Actual Downing Street Memo...
