I got this e mail from my cousin.
It really hits home, to just how overbearing government has become.

No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us, WE ARE AWESOME !!! OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!!
To Those of Us Born 1925 - 1970 :

At the end of this email is a quote of the month by Jay Leno.. If you don't read anything else, please
read what he said.

Very well stated, Mr.. Leno.
~~~~~~~~~
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE
1930s, '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then, after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies
in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, and, when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads.
As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.
Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter, and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And we weren't overweight..
WHY?
Because we were always outside playing...that's why!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day.
--And, we were OKAY.
We would spend hours building
our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes... After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Play Stations, Nintendos and X boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVDs, no surround-sound or CDs, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms...
WE HAD FRIENDS
and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from those accidents.
We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, and no one would call child services to report abuse.
We ate worms, and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls, and
-although we were told it would happen- we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them.
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.
Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, and inventors ever.
The past 50 to 85 years have seen an explosion of innovation and new ideas..
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.
If YOU are one of those born between 1925-1970, CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
While you are at it, forward it to your kids, so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ?
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
I love that.
I wish I was born in those days. But, happily, I had parents who were.... and we were 'outdoors' kids too.
We knew when to come in when the firefly's came out! lol!
We could leave our doors unlocked all the time....
We didn't worry about walking home alone and our parents didn't worry either.
We could ask strangers for directions without the fear of being kidnapped and killed.
We could pick up hitch hikers without the worry of being murdered...and we could hitch hike!
All these things really show what a different world we live in! People are always saying how "this" or "that" will never happen in America...but look how much it's changed since we were kids! I would have never thought back then that things would get this bad....it's really sad!
That is when we still had a lot of freedom and a lot less government telling us what we can and can not do.
And our Education system was pretty darn good. We ranked 3rd in the World.
Socialism has ruined this nation.
we played yard darts and only one kid died. My sister's freind killed herself in our garage,we lost several relatives in Nam. My uncle was shot and killed over an arguement. Kids were killed, raped, murdered and people still went aroung talking trash about you or your family. Women weren't suppose to get a job, many women had spent so many years stuck at home they did'nt know how to drive, never had a bill in their name, so when their husband died they couldn't buy a house or didn't know how to get electric turned on. Minorities were socialtrash, beaten, killed, to let them know they were not accepted in our hood. Girls were geting kidnapped and raped when hitchin'. Cops didn't want you to cat or cruiz. And it seemed like everyone was drunk, stoned or bible thumpers, the kind of thumpers that burned books, records ,posters or any other items they found offensive.
Things have not changed, except you can call the president a dick on public tv and still get another job.
We minded our parents because we were disciplined. This has become the greatest harm in our society, where children now think that they can't be spanked. Thank you very much stupid psychologists.
We were taught to have respect for other people's property.
I was beat at home, beat at school. It had no effect towards discipline, only my abilities to withstand pain and be rebellious. I don't beat my kids and they turned out fine, ty.
God don't care if he is in the pledge
Hehe, I beg to differ... :) Kinda shows the "hearts" of the people when some are calling to take God out of things.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
but this is not in a prayer. Adding God does not sanctify the pledge.If that were so the original author would have inncluded it. It's like adding graffitti to a poem, after tthe poet wrote the poem. God told me himself you people only use it for self agrandisement.
Jesus taught you how to pray, and it was in private with God notin public.
Matthew 6:5-14
Jesus Teaches How to Pray
( Lord's Prayer )
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6:5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
God don't care if he is in the pledge
He most certainly does. This is his nation as well as Israels.
this is not his nation, he does not run it, nor is it dedicated to him.
The whole world belongs to God, but he is not in control of what happens upon it, when it come to human activity.
We would not have won the revolutionary war if it had not been for the prayers of Washington and all of the soldiers and all who wanted to succeed from England.
They all said it was Divine intervention that helped us win the war.
I think you're right...because it's Satan that's in control right now, until God has had enough!
