They told him he was not under investigation and did not need an attorney when in fact he WAS under investigation and he WAS misled (tricked) into not having an attorney present. That's why Mueller doesn't want him to do time, he's hoping Flynn won't retaliate for his prosecutorial misconduct.

The problem with your reasoning being...he wasn't entrapped. Flynn agreed to be interviewed by FBI agents. He willfully and knowingly made materially false, ficticious and fraudulent statements to them.

That's not entrapment. That's Flynn violating Title 18, USC 1001 (a)(2).
