I just....I marvel that this is even in the realm of possibility ANYwhere in the US. I'm a public school teacher. I cannot:

1. State or even intimate that a child has any condition that might impede learning, such as ADHD, behavior or learning disabilities. I can only recommend TESTING.

2. I cannot give children any kind of medication. "Medication" includes anything other than tissues and bandaids. No hand lotion, no sanitizer, unless parents have approved.

3. The office staff cannot even give children medication unless it has a dr note. This includes over the counter meds like Tylenol that do not require a dr note for purchase or home care.

So when you say a teacher has somehow admitted a child to the hospital....how? Where?

I suppose the youth's parents opinion doesn't matter, or the youth's. Just your opinion and people like you. In my state of Nebraska, they passed a stupid law controlling gender-affirming care and gave it a sickening cutesy name " Let Them Grow " which is ironic because it prevents their growth. They are adult enough to go in the service and die for this country but they don't have the right to live their life as they see fit. ( The bill targets all trans youth up to age 19 in the state. ) The put a regular doctor in charge of it, not a gender-affirming specialist , so you know how this is going over with all the affected youth and their parents and friends. FYI : I hope you had special permission to publish this crap because it's definitely a HIPPA violation. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. None of this is taken lightly and surgery doesn't occur until after years of therapy and observation. We get in trouble when we believe we know better than the experts.

Nobody in a school--no one--can "admit" a child to a hospital. We are mandated reporters and CPS can get into a mountain of issues, but legally, no one in a school can usurp parents like this.
