There is a distinction between exposing fake news and banning it altogether. Good investigative reporters are necessary to get at the truth and some media have a reputation for doing this. Of late, Russia has become bolder at inventing news and packaging it on Russia Today (RT) television funded by the Russian government and Sputnik news agency blogs and radio which is under the control of the Russian government's news agency Rossiya Secondnya which helped Donald Trump get elected as the next president of the United States.
