War in Ukraine - News and More

Ukrainian forces seized a village named Uroschaine in the Donetsk region that lies at a traffic junction. The DPR defenders claim that the Russian tank forces that were supposed to support them were busy drinking alcohol, instead.

"The armored units of the 37th Brigade did not want to support the infantry in the Uroshaine battle. They claimed their tanks were destroyed shortly after positioning.
In fact, half the brigade is busy drinking alcohol in the background and the officers are unable to bring them to their senses."

Here should be a gif of Goebbels applauding.

Says some obscure Kraut site, i am not interested in what any German has to say about the War after their blood soaked history in the area, the Nazi filth in WW2 were all over Donbass before they were annihilated like the present day Nazis will be.

At least it is Germany´s second largest weekly magazine after Der Spiegel. The rest of your post ist bs, whether you agree or not to the article, the author isn´t responsible for WWII. Also, I requested people to not to flame in this thread. What else is your bs post?

Russia’s central bank on Tuesday raised its key interest rate to 12% from 8.5%, the bank said in a statement on its website.

The bank called an extraordinary meeting for Tuesday amid pressure from Moscow to halt a rapid depreciation of the country’s ruble currency.

The ruble slumped near 102 to the dollar on Monday as anxiety around the state of the economy and the impact of Western sanctions weighed heavily on the beleaguered currency.

Russia has mounted an offensive in the Charkiw region, Ukraine is currently evacuating 12.000 people from two towns and 35 villages. The evacuation is not mandatory.

The situation is difficult according to Ukrainian vice-Sectretary of Defense, Hanna Maljar. The Russian 1st Guards Tank Army inched closer to the city of Kupjansk, is now located 7 Km away from the city. This offensive is actually ongoing since July and an Ukrainian army press officer said on TV back in July that this offensive involves 100.000 Russian service men. However, it didn´t draw much western attention until now. Ukrainian reserve units are now being deployed there. Kupjansk lies between the Russian forces and Charkiw.

Well....that's one idea...but not the whole.

Wars are not fought just on the battlefield. And in truth where the battlefield is where lives are lost they seldom are won there.

The drone strikes at sea, in Moscow and hopefully soon in St Petersburg, along with more Russian civillian mobilization and economic sanctions will do more to end the war than fighting ever would. Human lives are of no real value except as an asset to be expended.

The goal of war is stopping your enemy from fighting. Ground taken in battle is not really that relevant.

Nato membership as a compensation for lost territories?

"Some Western officials have offered Ukraine territorial concessions to end the war, but they do not meet the goals of both Kyiv and Moscow.

This is reported by The Wall Street Journal with reference to unnamed officials in the West

Among them are fears, writes The Wall Street Journal, that Ukraine's "maximalist goals" guarantee endless war, and so they would like to offer Ukraine a deal so that it accepts the actual loss of some territory in exchange for membership in NATO or the EU or promises of long-term military and economic assistance."

Litwin, any opinion on this?

I read this after translation. There are some that want what the majority agrees on is to continue supporting Kiev and for Kiev to get what it wants which is the reunification of Ukraine.

The main question is what to do when this reunification won't happen this year or on the next year. And how many tries should happen before switching to plan B or C.

Good question. Both sides have been playing a waiting game. It really can't go on for another 2 years as it would bankrupt Nato and Russia leaving Ukraine a vast wasteland.

No more out of reach than Russia tossing Putin out and ending the war.
It is both out of reach. The offensive will result in Ukraine´s military being weaker than before and talks will soon have to take place. Russia will keep the taken soil and the sooner Zelensky understands this the better it is for all of us. Ukraine sacrificed 31 tanks for the village of Uroschaine. What would be the price for Melitopol? For Mariupol? Ukraine cannot pay it.

Wagner

Ukrainian GRU Boss Budanov said in an interview that they learned that Wagner tried to obtain a nuke with the size of a backpack.

Fanciful rubbish Budanov is one of only a few people that arefrightening just to see .A dangerous psychopath who lost contact with the world many years ago .

This results in Ukraine controlling the fresh water in Crimea and Russia controlling ALL of Ukrainian's trade with the rest of the world.

IOW no peace whatsoever.

No, Ukraine can trade via Poland, Germany, ect. That is what they are currently planning. It looks like taking back the territories is not an option. It is simply not possible. Some told that before. But they want Putin to lose, no matter how many soldiers have to die. Their true face (fratze) has been exposed.
