Why doesn't Walmart pay a living wage? Answer: because the owners are greedy and want taxpayers to subsidize their employees.
Walmart pays what the market dictates they pay. It's that simple. If people won't work for the wages they offer they'll have a shortage of workers and will be forced to pay more. They are not obligated to pay anyone what you think they should be paid. That is how the free market works, Komrade.
And the reason the market allows such a low wage is that their workers are allowed to still house and feed their families at the taxpayers expense
Taxpayers subsidize WalMarts low wages and WalMart keeps the profit
These people defending the Walmarts of the world are not smart enough to understand what you wrote.
Weird isn't it? Doesn't seem that hard to grasp. But is seems to be beyond the intellect of a briarpatty or a marty to understand that low wage workers qualify for government benefits. And that they will apply for them and use them because they don't make enough at their jobs to get by. And Walmart loves it. Why wouldn't they? Almost any company would love to pay employees less knowing that the taxpayers are making up the difference in what it takes to live.
