As I have posted...mot victims of gun murder...are criminals themselves....and many innocent victims have a connection to criminals that gets them murdered...like the recent murders in Ohio, where innocent people were murdered because of their habitation with pot growers who were targeted for murder......

Notice the source of the story......Public Radio...the last time I checked......the phone didn't have the initials NRA....

By the way....Milwaukee is also screwing over their cops...which explains the increase in gun mirders...democrat policies rule the day.....then throw in the Ferguson effect...

As Gun-Related Deaths Increase, Prior Criminal Records Is Common Link Among Shooters, Victims | Wisconsin Public Radio

Almost two-thirds of the fatal shootings in the state have taken place in Milwaukee. The others are scattered around 15 different cities and towns. In almost all cases, however, both victims and alleged perpetrators have criminal records.

Mallory O'Brien, of the Milwaukee Homicide Review Commission, tracks those numbers for the city of Milwaukee.

"(About) 94 percent of our victims have an arrest history and 93 percent of our suspects have an arrest history," O'Brien said.

O'Brien said the same percentage is true for non-fatal shooting incidents. There's been an increase in those numbers as well. By the end of June of last year, there were 204 cases and the count at the six-month mark this year, there have been 248 incidents -- a 21-percent increase. She said there' also been an increase in the number of shooting incidents with multiple victims.

This points out that the way to reduce gun murder...concentrate on the tiny number of actual criminals who shoot people...

GUN WATCH: SC: A Felon Has Rights to Self Defense

The major reason for the proliferation of violent crime, particularly homicides, is a belief that the criminal justice system is unreliable. Reinforcing the reliability of the police and the rest of the justice system is the key to reducing homicides.

David Kennedy from Harvard has repeatedly shown that this is so. Only a small number of violent criminals commit most homicides in most cities. When the community is willing to cooperate with police to remove, intimidate, and/or rehabilitate this tiny minority, the homicide rate falls precipitously.
