Vatican offers to mediate peace talks

I find that hilarious.

You’ve got a war between two Abrahamic people’s and the third “cousin” is going to come in and meditate any kind of meaningful end to the conflict?… I think not.

You can bet the Socialist Pope's "peace talks" would offer Hamas all kinds of concessions, while giving Israel the short end of the stick. Catholics have a long history of playing Screw the Joos.

I don’t see how any of the three sides can trust either of the other two sides. Not that I (a member of none of the sides) could trust any of them either.

Yeah, they already tried that with Ukraine and Russia. Any mediator should have a leverage on at least one side of the conflict. Without that any mediation is pointless.

Except of that, what goals can these peace talks reach? The two sides are opposing each other in everything.

The Pope is willing to mediate peace talks between Israel and Hamas.

The only resolution to this is Hamas no longer existing. There is no point in negotiations with an entity who sees no reason to hold up its end of whatever agreement you might come to.

What a fool if he thinks Hamas has any form of morality at all. You can't negotiate "peace" with a party who does not want peace, only the destruction of Israel. Hamas would consider the pope to be one of the biggest infidels in the world.

/——/ You can’t negotiate with homicidal maniacs. All you can do is kill them. But the Pope being the Pope wants to be the peace maker. I’m Catholic, and believe His Holiness lives in a bubble.

Imagine 3 parties who all think their religion is the only true and correct one trying to come to an agreement.

That's a comedy I want to watch
