Since many socialist-democracy nations are better than us, please explain to me how socialism isn't something we should implement more here. For that matter, since Hong Kong (China) remains no. 1 in freest economies (according to National Review) explain to me how communist-socialist isn't something we should implement more here. :)

Your theory is nonsense. When this country was ACTUALLY the light of the world (for the last 200 or so years - ending around 1975) we were the example to the rest of the world as to how successful capitalism could be. Socialism has nothing to do with it. Since then - we have gone to hell. I have begged folks here to watch this video. Watch it and maybe, just maybe, you'll understand what the hell has happened (and what WILL happen) to us in the near future.

We are headed down the exact same road - and it will destroy this country.

My theory's irrefutable.

Our system of government isn't the system used by any of the no. 1 countries in any of the metrics above. Socialist and variations of socialist are.

Well then, rather than stick around and take on this BS system that has got us into this mess - guess you'd better head to Sweden. You'll be much happier there, I'm sure.

Pretty happy here reminding people such as yourself that longing for what was isn't productive.

Obviously we aren't going "back". The Super Rich would never stand for it. However, if you are stupid enough to believe that this country will EVER embrace socialism - then you need to be checked out by mental health professionals. The "rich" never let go of what is theirs - even in socialist countries.

I may believe in the past - but you believe in a fairyland. Wake the hell up.

What the left apparently wants is equality in misery.

We already embrace socialism, we just call it other things. :)

Instead of clinging to what was, we should swallow our pride and adopt what works in various other countries. More we insist our's is superior (while at the same time slipping place after place) longer we'll be the butt of world jokes about how we like chanting we're no. 1 when we're not actually no. 1 except in number of citizens incarcerated.

A dysfunctional congress proves that the U.S. has one of the dumbest governments in the free world. "Free world"...what a laugh.

First: What "was" is gone. Again - the "wealthy" will NEVER give up a damned thing. NEVER. That includes politicians, Wall Street, Bankers, Celebrities, Athletes and the rest. NEVER.

The WEALTHY make up the laws that the rest of us have to live by while they laugh at us. This country is being "wasted" and will turn into a 3rd world country, while the "wealthy" will simply move on - they can afford to. So, again, what's your plan? Run around carrying a sign that says "Socialism NOW!" That will get you far. Nope. If you want to lead some simplistic socialist life - you will have to move the hell out of here - cause it ain't happening here, Bro. This country will be the new El Salvador within 20 -30 years.

Sorry the second video is too long to watch. But the first one is interesting. What is the solution to this inequality? Revolution? Government take over of business?

My thoughts are that the growth in the wealth of the rich is because they were rich in the first place. The fed has been pumping money into the economy since Obama took office, that money went somewhere. It went to those who own stocks, bonds and federal securities, in my opinion. There is little doubt what the democrats have done in the last 8 years has helped anyone other then the rich. No doubt at all.

Keep in mind that America supports more illegal aliens than the entire population of the "world's happiest country" that's covered in snow for most of the year. Thanks to half a century of left wing education system, American professors don't want to fly the Stars and Stripes on campus, America educates illegal aliens for free and the only thing kids are good at is putting a condom on a banana.

It's all part of the plan, my friend. In another 20-30 years, you can kiss this country goodbye. I truly hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there it is.

Guess the fact that we've been hearing exactly that ^^ since the year 1 sails over your head.

Whatta whiner. Chicken Little with a keyboard.

That's the question, isn't it? The fed has been printing money like crazy for the last 20 or so years. All this phony money simply disappears as our debt continues to grow. Obviously SOMEONE is getting it, right? Is it you? I haven't gotten any of it. That's why the second video is so important. Not arguing but I have heard of this storm coming for quite some time.

I think that for what I have done in life I have received, and saved, the wealth that I deserve. I have work 30+ years averaging about 50 hours a week to get what I got.

I have laid out the road map that I followed to my children and their husbands but they don't seem interested. Maybe they saw all the hours I worked and that turned them off, I don't blame them.

BUT, other then hard work and a whole lot of luck I can't see where they expect to share in the wealth. Getting by seems to be good enough for them, and wishing things were different.

I completely agree. Freedom in itself is so overrated. This study seems to suggest that is even destructive to society. Freedom must be squashed in order to help us achieve our goals. Doesn't anyone see this. Letting people choose their own "individual" path is fine but there is no guarantee that path is beneficial to society. With that in mind, we should narrow down those choices to a few and those few help out societies overall objectives. We need less individual freedom not more.

U.S. Students Slide In Global Ranking On Math Reading Science The Two-Way NPR

""In mathematics, 29 nations and other jurisdictions outperformed the United States by a statistically significant margin, up from 23 three years ago," reports Education Week. "In science, 22 education systems scored above the U.S. average, up from 18 in 2009."

In reading, 19 other locales scored higher than U.S. students — a jump from nine in 2009, when the last assessment was performed."

Since many socialist-democracy nations are better than us, please explain to me how socialism isn't something we should implement more here. For that matter, since Hong Kong (China) remains no. 1 in freest economies (according to National Review) explain to me how communist-socialist isn't something we should implement more here. :)

Oh my dear God.............

National Review

"In the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation’s recently released 2014 Index of Economic Freedom, the United States has dropped from the list of the top ten freest economies in the world. Over the past year the U.S. moved from the tenth-freest economy to the twelfth."

Reporters Without Borders

"This has been the case in the United States (46th place Press Freedom)"

Neither is longing for what doesn't work.

Ya know that when you keep your head buried in the sand like this it only makes it easier to F you.

Nothing surprising about any of this.

Mexico's "happier" than us was a surprise. :)
Odd, isn't it, how all those 'happy' Mexicans keep flooding across the US-Mexico border into the US, isn't it?

If they're happier than we are, then they can stay where they are, and their millions of fellow Mexican citizens on US soil will certainly wish to return home, quickly, yes?
