The OP is correct at this time. Our system is far from perfect, but there is too much money being made. But, some things need to change. The far right are perceived as saying let the less fortunate die, move into a tent and eat cat food is not what they think, but is often being seen the the net effect. I have no solution for the masses. Personally know, I and my family I have been lucky. Now I have transitioned to Medicare and Tricare for life, as a retiree. Not many families can afford $1200/month to prepay for something that might not happen.
Most programmers are hired as contractors, so do not get benefits like health insurance.
I have paid in over half a million in insurance premiums, and never got a single cent back out.
