Yesterday, the British Parliament changed the way it operates because the Speaker was afraid that some parliamentarians would be murdered if they couldn't be seen to vote for a ceasefire in a war on the other side of the world. This isn't democracy. This is a country that is unwilling to live by its own rules in order to placate a violent mob.And efforts are already being made to sweep this reality under the carpet as they did with the murder of Sir David Amess. We can't afford that. We have to be honest and admit it:We have a problem with Islamist extremism that requires immediate and drastic action. Appeasement doesn't work. If intimidation and threats of violence produce results like the one we saw yesterday, this will only encourage more intimidation and threats of violence.

The government, both the major parties, the police and the security services need to understand we no longer have the luxury of pretending this issue away. People who threaten violence should be arrested and locked up for a very long time. If the threats are directed against elected MPs, that is an attempt to subvert our democracy and should be treated as such, i.e. met with severe sentences. Foreign nationals who engage in, call for, fund or glorify violence, religious hatred or other violent extremism should be deported immediately.

We must be honest with ourselves. If we do not act now, as sadly I am certain we won't, the result will be more violence and more intimidation. It is not a pleasant truth to have to admit but things will only get worse if we refuse to speak it.

This has to stop.

People are highly social creatures but they are definitely NOT herd creatures. Borders are essential as the borders help keep the PEACE among like minded INDIVIDUALS. "Birds of a feather flock together" comes to mind here. A perfect example of borders as necessary is the invisible border(designated smoking areas in public places) that separates smokers from nonsmokers. The current mayhem in America & Europe, especially Ireland well illustrate the the mixing of various cultures/ideology inevitably lead to to discord, physical violence & even civil wars. Keep the national borders so we can all live in peace.

The old testament talks about the sin of moving border stones. Didn't make much of an impression on the Europeans.

Proverbs 22:28

The final negative command in this chapter refers to cheating others out of land or property. The technique described is manipulation of markers or records.

The boundaries of a field—or other important lines (Genesis 31:51–52)—were often designated by the arrangement of stones at the perimeter.

Apparently, a means of stealing land was to move those stones, making it appear as if the border was in a different place (Deuteronomy 19:14; Job 24:2; Hosea 5:10). Equivalent deceptions in the modern era might be moving a fence, changing a map, uprooting surveyor's stakes, or altering a document.

Before Israel entered Canaan, the Promised Land, the Lord commanded them: "You shall not move your neighbor's landmark, which the men of old have set, in the inheritance that you will hold in the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess" (Deuteronomy 19:14). Later, when Moses gathered the people together, he told them to divide by tribes and stand on two mountains, Mount Gerizim to hear blessings and Mount Ebal to hear curses. Among the curses is this one: "Cursed be anyone who moves his neighbor's landmark" (Deuteronomy 27:17).

In a broader sense, this proverb could be interpreted as a warning not to discard the boundaries set by prior generations. A modern adage notes that before one takes down a fence, it's important to know why it was put up in the first place. Each new generation questions the moral or social restrictions of their ancestors; while not all such restrictions are good, it's also not good to throw away those boundaries simply because they are ancient.
