Unemployed Running Out Of Time, Money!

Wait, because the Republicans killed the unemployment benefits, people are going to blame Obama?

you're an idiot, All the Republicans did was filibuster the bill asking that we first come up with a way to pay for it, and also asking that the 30 Billion for the states the Dems attached to the bill be removed.

Why can't you freaking idiots get it. The Dems are in power. The have near super majorities. All they had to do was give on one of those demands and we would have extended unemployment benefits right now. Yet all you can think to do is blame the Republicans.

I say good for them for FINALLY taking a stand and saying ENOUGH DEFICIT SPENDING.

Yeah, I can blame the Republicans because they're the ones filibustering the bill.

Then you are a hopeless fool lemming who is beyond all help. For the reasons I stated above which of course you ignored and simply spit out your same argument again. Like the drooling liberal ass wipe you are.

Disclaimer for everyone else: Sorry about my crappy attitude, But I have 0 Patience for Liberal dim wits like this who fall for every gimmick the Dems come up with, and simply refuse to see what is really happening.

It's not a gimmick. The bill has the Constitutionally necessary support to pass. The only gimmick are the procedural games being played by the Republicans to block a vote.

Umm, Congress has already cut taxes

In the words of Joe Wilson
"you lie"
So lets here about those tax cuts?

Just looking at tax cuts given to business in the stimulus package:

- Allowing companies to use current losses to offset profits made in last five years (instead of the standard two): 15 billion
- Renewable energy production credits: 13 billion
- Accelerated depreciation claims on equipment : 5 billion

Even politifact got it wrong
The key word in his statement is "working." Obama's claim is based on a tax cut intended to offset payroll taxes. Under the stimulus bill, single workers got $400, and working couples got $800. The Internal Revenue Service issued new guidelines to reduce withholdings for income tax, so many workers saw a small increase in their checks in April 2009.
PolitiFact | Tax cut for 95 percent? The stimulus made it so
It's not a tax cut if you have to pay it back at the end of the year.

1) The bank bailout bill included tax cuts, which the republicans voted against
2) The stimulus bill included tax cuts, which the republicans voted against

Contrary to their claims, Republicans were pretty big on TARP. Half of the House caucus voted for it, the majority of their Senate caucus did, and the bill was written by a Republican president.

President's don't write Bills. Read the CON

People need to toughen up and stop depending on the government to take care of them.
The government if it wants to help the people it needs to create job growth by giving tax cuts to business’s that will hire the unemployed.
The people of this country are the ones to big to fail. So nows the time for obama to do something instead of playing golf or have dinner party's

WEll...1/3 of the stimulus that you probably hate came in the form of TAX BREAKS.

How's that?

Of course presidents write bills. They don't have the power to formally introduce them, but if you honestly think that WH staff isn't deeply involved in the process of crafting the language of new legislation, you're a fool.

If anyone can't find a job in todays growing economy... Well they should have gotten a better education, it is all just their own fault.

They do in the crafting of SOME legislation, no doubt, but if Congress doesn't want it in there, it aint going in there no matter what the President wants. He does not write bills. He can make suggestions.

Or he can issue executive orders.

Or put in signing statements how he is not going to go along with aspects of some laws.

Or have his legislative team write the full text of a bill and hand it off to a friendly representative or senator to introduce on the floor.

Unemployed Running Out Of Time, Money!

HOLY SHIT BATMAN!
Guess they are going to have to unass themselves from the Barcolounger and go take a job.

Yeah, because that's clearly the problem. Jobs are all over the place, people just won't take them... :cuckoo:

I'm willing to bet once the unemployment benefits run out, you're going to see a faster drop in the unemployment rate.

Go ahead and continue to ignore the fact that the Dems could have passed it if they wanted to. If they were willing to give just a little.

Of course you will since the Number the Government puts out is based on how many people are collection benefits.

That is why there is a dispute between the government numbers and what people call Real unemployment. See real unemployment includes those who have exhausted or do not qualify for Benefits but are still out of work. It also includes the Self employed who have lost their incomes.

You just demonstrated how you're are incapable of engaging in an honest discussion:

Polk just listed three tax cuts for BUSINESSES, and your response has nothing to do with BUSINESS taxes.

there you have it folks.

Republicans think anyone who cant find a job in this god awful mess the republicans caused is a lazy asshole.

My state has a 20+ percent unemployement rate.

I'm referring to the fact that once the checks stop coming people are going to double their efforts to try and find something. I have known people who have lost their jobs and freely decided to live off of unemployment for a few months to take a break from having to work.

Well, there is some truth to that. I've been trying to hire people for MONTHS, very good pay scale, good benefits. I've hired at least 15 people, 13 had failed miseably within the first two weeks and either quit or were terminated (and you have to totally suck for that to happen). The attitude i hear a lot is "fuck working, i can stay on unemployment and get paid for doing nothing". But of course, idiots like you support that way of life .......
