under the Democrats, the JCPOA has been stripped of most of it's power :(

Kind of arrogant, and hostile telling sovereign nations what they can, and cannot develop, as if these sovereign nations were their own fiefdoms...

Pictures or it didn't happen.

I don't care if you don't know the latest news re Biden's 'outreach' to the Iranian terrorists. It was reported in several newspaper just this last week, so you missed it. tough. Go smoke another rock.

I am sure Biden negotiating with terrorist is the same as when Trump negotiated with Taliban in Afghanistan when he surrendered to them.

Oh, really now. You may wish to ask India that same question.
ok, so India threatened Pakistan several times.
that's a valid reason to develop a nuclear deterrent.

but if Iran were to adhere to being a peaceful neighbor,
there would be no threats against it of regime change,
let alone nuclear war.

From 1946 to 1992, the U.S. government conducted more than 1,000 nuclear tests, during which unwitting troops were exposed to vast amounts of ionizing radiation.

Exposed is completely different from your claim of putting sailors and soldiers "in actual atomic bomb explosions". The two are not even close.

And at that time, nobody understood the dangers. Realize, this was also the same time period where people added radium to their food and water, and the "X-Ray Shoe Fitter" which bombarded children with high doses of x-rays was common for shoe fitting.

What you are doing is all to common. Trying to look back over a half a century into the past, and passing judgements based upon modern knowledge. One should never do that, and it is little different from lying when one does it. At that time, nobody understood the effects of radiation, especially long term exposure and things that would take years or decades to manifest themselves.

After WWII the US carried out nuclear test on the Bikini Islands and US military personnel in test done with naval and then army units in actual atomic bomb explosions.

So how many died when they blew up American servicemen? Must have sunk a lot of ships, too.

There really isn't any valid reason to make and possess nuclear weapons. That is, unless your neighbor has them and you fear getting overrun by them and they have nuclear weapons.

Now, a bit of history about India and Pakistan. At one time they were all one nation and both were called India. But the British in 1947 decided to redraw the middle east and that part of Asia. The British broke it up where India became a Hindu (and a few others) while Pakistan was Muslim. This was to prevent wars where both sides kept trying to kill the other off. Kashmir is supposed to be neutral and it's exchanged hands due to war many times. Today, Kashmir is controlled and claimed by India. While not totally successful, the numbers of terrorism for both countries (religions) was curtailed while the Military from both sides only really met near Kashmir.

There is real hatred between both countries. And many times, they have almost went to the nuclear option but the rest of the world stepped in and helped them back off.

Not going to happen as long as it's controlled by Religious Leaders. Like the Pak/India problem, Iran has the same problem with Israel. Same problem just a different religion. If you believe that Religion doesn't pay a huge control of Israel you would be mistaken. What's kept Iran and Israel from exchanging nuclear weapons is the fact that Iran doesn't have them and Israel claims to not have them. That as close as I can come due to old security reasons and promises.

these religious reasons for serious potential conflicts that could affect millions are *exactly the reason* why i'm advocating for stiffer sanctions against Iran *now*, before they become a nuclear armed state and thus force the rest of the region to do the same.
Pakistanis don't hate the West, in part due to relatively good governance that they at one time received from the Brits.
that's different for Iran, as we all know.

Actually, one of the neighbors already has nuclear weapons. They deny it, of course, but it's estimated that they have between 80 to 400 warheads capable of being put on various delivery vehicles. And the Hebrew religion is as solid as the Iranian Muslims are. The best the rest of the world can do is to keep them from attacking each other. And to prevent Iran from completing a nuclear program.

We blew it with North Korea in 2006 when they completed their first nuclear warhead. The Genie was let out of the bottle.
